Scientist Michio Kaku Says Gulf Oil Leak “Could Last Years”; Create "Dead Zones" in Gulf – Video

Here is video of Physics expert Michio Kaku on “The Today Show” where he explained the current attempt by BP to stop the flow of oil from the broken pipe at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. The current plan is to “cut and cap” – cut the pipe off cleanly and then cap it to capture the flowing oil. Kaku said by cutting the pipe, it is actually going to allow about 20% more oil to flow into the Gulf. So, if the “Cut and Cap” approach does not work, the problem will actually be worse.

On the “relief well” BP is drilling, Kaku said it would be like “winning the lottery” for that to work on the first try. In fact, he said this Oil Spill could go on for “years,” creating entire “dead zones” in the Gulf of Mexico.

Oh well, no pun intended, if it does it does. We’ll survive.

all I can think of is their comment - never let a crisis go to waste. They want this to drag on to affect takeover of oil and prices.

Except for the dead zones and leaking for years part, he now knows what most here already know. I’m glad somebody brought the physics guy up to speed.

The Ixtoc spill was six times larger, and went on for nine months. The Gulf of Mexico somehow survived that.

The MSM want this spill to be (in the public perception) a thing so terrible that only Government - or James Cameron - can solve it. But it isn’t.
