The Encore Western Channel. Cheyenne, Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick
As a kid, I was never much into westerns and have been watching this channel now with great interest.
It also shows some GREAT old movies too like Red River, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Shane and 3:10 to Yuma.

I think tom cruise was going to be in it. All I can think about is the bycycle scene and “rain drops keep falling on my head”
LOL

I’ve seen every episode at least 5 times. One of my all time favorites.
Give it to USA or FX let them do it, they’re much better than the big networks.
My favorite Rockford character......Skip the life guard. Only kidding but there were dozens that were great!

What doomed this remake was that they did it the wron way. They should have cast an Asian-American like Hiro from Heroes.

WIKIPEDIA:
[Garner is a strong Democratic Party supporter, contributing over $7,500 to Democrats running for Federal office the past seven years, including Dennis Kucinich (for Congress in 2002), Richard Gephardt, John Kerry, Barbara Boxer, and various Democratic committees and groups. Since 1982 Garner has given at least $29,000 to Federal campaigns, and over $24,000 of that has been to the Democrats. . .there was an effort by Democratic party leaders. . .to persuade James Garner to seek the 1990 Democratic nomination for Governor of California.]

LOL! But notice how the Angel character was almost the same person that was Stuart Margolin’s Pvt. Little Joe in “Kelly’s Heroes.”
One of the better movies of all time, btw.

Yes. A big ‘rat supporter. As is Andy Griffith and many, many others. Quite unfortunate.

Yes - we can sleep better. I find Dermot Mulroney to be annoying. Even though Jimbo Garner is a lefty, he’s a talent dude - and the show was good (repeats still show non RTV).

The Lance White character Tom Selleck played was pretty funny, too. Not the character as much as how badly the character vexed Rockford.

Garner puts his money where he wants to and keeps his yap shut. Fine with me.
To: davidlachnicht
The Rockford Files episode that guest starred Selleck (White on White and Nearly Perfect) was one of the best of the series.

I am impressed and I mean it sincerely. If and when I take a long vacation to California it would be on my list.

I always suspected Garner was a rat. Still it was a very good show.
