It’s sad that Hollweird is so out of ideas that it has to remake classics.

I have on tape and DVD every single episode. I watch them all the time. Best TV show ever.

What about the other planned remakes from Hollyweird?

Gilligans Island .... where 7 people are trapped on a mountain as the world floods due to melting ice caps.

Three Stooges... where 3 right-wing idiots bumble their way through a leftwing world.

Lost in Space... Where a family escapes from Earth Inc by stealing a profit mongering tycoon's space ship.

“Oh, just stop it. This is like doing “Hawaii 5-0” without Jack Lord. (Or Zulu as Kono.)”

Or James MacArthur as Danno!

I rather see Maverick revived. Maybe they could get Juan to play Maverick if he gets retired?

"Oh, just stop it. This is like doing “Hawaii 5-0” without Jack Lord."

They are remaking Hawaii Five-O as a weekly series on CBS next year. While CBS hasn't officially announced next year's schedule yet, everything I've read says it's a done deal.

So true. I am glad this remake isn’t happening.

The Encore Western Channel. Cheyenne, Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick, etc. Can’t beat it!

Pure entertainment, no “messages” or “art” to infect the product.

IMO, the ONLY actor that could play that part is James Garner. And notice how his ‘Maverick’ character was the same smart-ass that was Jim Rockford.

This guy was key in both productions.

I’d never heard about this one. I had heard about a remake of Gilligan’s Island, but that never seems to get off the ground.

Kinda hard to remake a show like that when they don’t make any cool cars anymore. Magnum PI wouldnt be the same in a toyota or even a modern ferrari for that matter. Part of the problem is that plain ordinary cars nowdays have greater performance capabilities than many of the “hi-performance” cars of the good ol days.

I’ve got a great idea, they should do a remake of ‘Wild, Wild, West’ with Will Smith as James West....now that should really pack ‘em in.

Yep, and just heard that Huggins’ wife, 1940s actress Adele Mara passed away about a week ago.
