Thirteen year-olds can be the meanest, most vicious people in the world.
Life isn’t fair.
No discipline in schools anymore. I was amazed when I saw high school kids getting out of school. Tattoos, beards, body piercings, cell phones...foul mouths...in class. Complete breakdown.
I was picked on in school. Never once thought of hanging myself.
The way to deal with bullies is to bully back. My "4-eyed" brainiac son had his glasses broken in 3rd grade by larger black bully and the school dd nothing about it. So I told him if he bothers you again kick him as hard as you can on his knee. So he did. And no one ever bothered him again. He was suspended for 2 days, but it was worth it.
Typical British tabloid spin.
I remember a boy in my HS who hanged himself because he was so smart. This guy was Einstein smart. Got bullied and just wanted to fit in. Couldn’t carry a conversation.
She was a pretty girl...dreadful tragedy.
There’s only one way to deal with bullies of any shape, size or gender and that’s to throw it back at them. These poor girls aren’t taught any self confidence by the parents or in schools so when someone attacks them they have no idea how to handle it physically or mentally.
I was the “victim” (hate that word) of some serious bullying in my teenage years but I had the will power to face it and fight it because my parents wouldn’t let me do it any other way. So there’s the key...be parents! If your kid is coming home depressed and sad, there’s a reason for it. Be the protector of your kids because Lord know the school won’t be.
Further, too many people think high school is the end all be all of life. It’s not. There are so many good things that are away from that 4 year hell. So much to look forward to...but no one tells them that. Every one acts like being 16 is the best time of your life. You couldn’t pay me to go back to that age.
As a former foster parent, I’d say being in foster care had a BIG part of it. The foster part seems to be trivialized in the article. Perhaps this is to make the birthparents ‘feel better’ about themselves.
we have a society where adults say ‘I’ll do what I want!’ and to hell with the consequences. The fact is that most foster kids are born to single parents—and then there is the booze, drugs, the boyfriend of the month, etc.
One last thing—who the HELL names their kid Poppy?
My 12 and 14 year old daughters go through this mess. My 12 year old lived through the rumor all last year (yes, when she was ELEVEN!) that she was pregnant because she still had some tummy on her.
That is such a cruel age.
My granddaughter had been bullied by a few girls for this entire school year. A few weeks ago, one of the girls was alone, and my gd confronted her. The girl got smart, so my granddaughter slapped her. My granddaughter got a week’s suspension; the bullies got a pass. Even so, the bullies aren’t quite so mouthy anymore. These girls are 12 years old.
She was in foster care and looking at her picture, she was extremely thin. Bullying might have been part of it but it seems she had lots of other problems.
Is the pic in the story her? If so there is more to the story about her unhappiness imo
“For many, ‘mean girl’ practice starts early”
“...Research shows that mothers will respond forcefully if their young daughters bite or hit someone, Simmons says. But verbal bullying is different.
Very often, moms say, Thats just girls being girls. But if you make light of it and dont intervene, youre giving your daughter permission, she says.
Coloroso says its imperative to acknowledge bullying regardless of age because the behavior often progresses.
She described a case last year in Washington state in which a group of sixth-grade girls made an animated video set to a Hannah Montana tune and put it on YouTube. Titled Top Six Ways to Kill Piper, the video showed two girls shooting their classmate, shoving her off a cliff, poisoning her, and making her kill herself. The perpetrators, 11 and 12 years old, were disciplined by their school, but no criminal charges were filed.
If we dont handle it in grade school, Coloroso says, it only gets worse.”
Well the little bully punks were lucky she did not completely snap....
But if kids don’t go to government school, they’ll miss out on socialization.
Dreadful. RIP.
Too bad nobody picks on Chuckie Schumer.
There is obviously more to this story BTTT
Manchester...is this near Britian’s Muslim-land?
