I’d say 99% of people are geographic dunces.

Nothing in this world is more clueless than your average mainstream journalist.
It’s really pathetic that the people who are charged with keeping us informed, are the most uninformed people on the scene.
The many cops who don’t know the law, doctors who don’t know medicine, carpenters who can’t hang a door, and all the rest who fall into the eighty per cent really boggle my mind.
If I were just a lowly ditch digger, I would endeavor to dig the best ditches possible, with straight sides and a flat bottom.

If only.......................

That might not even help. I have a niece that up until she was 23 thought that Alaska and Hawaii were located in the Pacific just alongside Baja, California because that's how the weather map on the local news showed it. She just couldn't understand how the weather for those two could be so vastly different, since they were so close together! Seriously!

I knew where things were at one time. I've forgotten a lot since school. I don't use it on a daily basis, so it goes away. But I can tell you this, I can find Hawaii on a map. Usually, it's just south of New Mexico, right next to Alaska (as shown here Map of United States

Although, I'm not sure Mexico agrees. ;-)

Get a bunch of people to email him that he was really pointing at Luxembourg and see if he will ‘correct’ himself on air.

Understood. My 12 year old neice didn’t know how to read a traditional style clock until my sis hung one on the wall and asked her to keep track of the time for some reason.

Lord, thank you for a mom and dad who once upon a time cared enough to buy me a plain old little sheet-metal globe of the world for Christmas.
