Shooting and discussion of the SKS. This one happens to be the Russian Model SKS...
I thought that’s what this thread was about.
Nice!!!!
so is the gun.
My friend had one (gun) and had a problem with the front sight until he got the proper tool to adjust it.
Ain’t it confusing when a title includes the word “model”...
Sorry, just good info on the SKS (not my title)...
The SKS is a piece of garbage. It’s Chinese for $99.
Nevertheless, I’ll take the woman in the picture.
I couldn’t understand it anyway.
The picture was well.... Worth it!
Oh, that was for the thread useless without pictures crowd. Note the SKS pictured...
I bought one. It’s a good semi-auto, it throws some scary looking lead, and with a stripper clip it’s a fast load. It’s not even close to how awesome a AR-15 is, but it doesn’t cost anything.
Coupled with a cheap CZ-52, you’ve got a armor piercing rifle and pistol that have cheap ammo and are loud and threatening.
I wish I had a Tula arsenal SKS
Simonov didnt make it full auto, but if you let the firing pin get real dirty it will slam fire like a full auto.
This is not recommended.
I've owned several and they're decent shooters, reliable and relatively inexpensive. They are kind of heavy.
I’ve heard about the slam fire but have never experience it. Some scary stories on the net about it but haven’t run into anyone who actually had it occur.
Agreed, I bought three back when they were $89 apiece. Two still in the grease and one shooter. Reliable, and while not as accurate as a M16, its way better than a .22 for zombie attacks.
That was my first impression, but my wife talked me into buying one back when they were selling for $80. The SKS doesn't have that look of quality or refinement, but it is reliable in doing what it was designed to do. Its the ideal knock about gun, which you wouldn't have to worry about it getting wet or banged up. I have well got my money's worth out that piece of crap.
Now I can look at other aspects of this fine picture. :D
