A Florida woman said her love handles saved her life when she was shot entering an Atlantic City bar. Samantha Lynn Frazier said she heard two pops when she walked into Herman's Place early Saturday. The 35-year-old then felt pain and saw blood on her hand after she grabbed her left side. Atlantic City police said Frazier was an innocent bystander.
Detective Lt. Charles Love said the gunman was aiming for a man who escaped with a bullet hole in his down jacket.
The suspect remains at large.
Frazier told The Press of Atlantic City that 'I could have been dead. They said my love handles saved my life."
Frazier also told the newspaper that she had been "hollering" that she wanted to lose weight. She now said "I want to be as big as I can if it's going to stop a bullet."
Inspiring.
She neglects to realize that if she were thin she might not have been hit at all.
It's good to have goals. But she may be attributing more bullet-stopping power to body fat than is warranted.
Exactly...LOL
Any excuse to overeat...
Maybe if she didn’t present such a large target, people wouldnt duck behind her for cover?
"I want to be as big as I can if it's going to stop a bullet."
Perhaps police departments need to hire people over 300 lbs. It would save the expense of bullet-proof vests.
Or, maybe the bullet would’ve missed her if she wasn’t so fat?
Just sayin’.
America’s newest hero
Handles ???
I know that bar, getting shot at and being fat is no rare occurance.
Handles? How bout tires.
Well, alrighty then.
Wow - shot in an Atlantic City nightclub... who'd of guessed that could happen? Maybe there's a hidden lesson there.
But that consideration aside, "stopping" a bullet is not exactly the goal here. Anyone can "stop" a bullet. Perhaps simply AVOIDING bullets and places where they are so freely dispensed is a better idea (AC "nightclubs"???).
It apparently escaped her attention that if she was even a slightly thinner target, maybe the bullet would have missed her altogether.
You guys can say all the mean things you want about this nice lady, but frankly, I find her to be an inspiration, and I want my kids to grow up exactly like her.
That said, there’s a better than even chance that they will.....
