Brown would like daughter back on 'American Idol' (Simon Cowell called her 'robotic and empty')

WASHINGTON – Sen.-elect Scott Brown says he'd like daughter Ayla to have another crack at "American Idol," where judge Simon Cowell once described her performance as robotic and empty.

The fledgling recording artist, a 21-year-old student at Boston College, made it to the show's final 16 singers in 2006.

Her father told ABC's "This Week" that Ayla was so new to it all back then that she had never put on makeup until she did "American Idol." He also says that Cowell's critique, while harsh, was on target.

The Republican lawmaker says having his daughter back as a contestant would be great for the program and would show people there's life after "American Idol."

Odd Couple.

Too bad Meghan couldn't sing for Simon.. or at least Ellen.

Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown meets with U.S. Senator John McCain on Capitol Hill in Washington January 21, 2010. U.S. Senator John Kerry on Thursday called for the seating of Brown "as expeditiously as possible." In meetings with lawmakers in Congress, Brown said he might be sworn in as Massachusetts' first Republican senator since 1972 sometime next week. A senior Democratic aide said that timeframe was possible. REUTERS/Larry Downing (UNITED STATES - Tags: POLITICS)

Why would someone with a law degree want to go on AI?

Scott should be busy prepping his daughter to run for office.

It is his duty to start a Conservative Dynasty in Massachusetts!

Let’s find out how he votes first. He has yet to cast a single one in DC, yet.

Hasn’t he done enough already? Raising a conservative daughter in MA would be a Herculean feat!

“Dad, Haven’t you embarrassed me enough already?”

First he announces she doesn’t have a boyfriend, now it’s that she didn’t know how to put makeup on—and that he thinks he’s got to shill for!

Wait. What? Going BACK to AI would show there's something AFTER AI? Huh?

I realize the point he's trying to make but it sounds funny - as in, well, funny!

Ayla is a voter that supports the “nice people” candidates.

(NECN: Boston) - Her father is the talk of Washington Republicans, but Ayla Brown says she has an independent streak - and a voting record to prove it. In an interview with Beth Shelburne of New England Cable News Friday, Ayla Brown, the daughter of Massachusetts Senator-Elect Scott Brown, acknowledges that she voted for Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry in his 2008 re-election campaign.

Brown says she met Kerry at an event she sang at and was impressed by him personally. “I thought he was incredibly nice and like I said, I take that into consideration when it comes to voting - because those who reach out to the people and who are nice to those who are in Massachusetts, that’s all you need to know, she said. “Usually those nice people will work hard for those in Massachusetts.”

Brown says she’s registered as an independent - known as ‘unenrolled’ in Massachusetts. “There are times I have voted for a Republican, there are times I have voted for a Democrat. I really just try to look at the people.”

Yes, I agree. That’s all I care about is how he votes.

She’ll make a good politician. Never show the media/populace your true motives and straddle the fence. Give em’ a nice soundbite to get them off your back. Daddy taught her well.

My mistake...thought she was out of law school.

Well, maybe she can ask Harvard to give her a law degree, on her good looks, just like they did for Obammy! They can make her head of the Law Review while they’re at it!

I spent some time on Ayla’s website and she is stunning. Gorgeous, talented and I've never seen a lady so young and so outgoing and able to “work a room” like she did when she was on CBS morning. She's transparent, charming and brilliant. First Sarah Palin, now Ayla. Our future is looking better every day.

Well - evidently she is not a conservative - not yet.

Hopefully she will gain wisdom as she matures to go with her intelligence, looks, and talent.

(She doesn’t need AI to see her career soar now).

And, I hope, she finds Jesus if she doesn’t already know Him. He makes all things “complete”.

If she doesn't vote Republican, and she isn't conservative and she is presumably pro abortion like her father, then how does she fit into our future like a Governor Palin?
