I guess its started already. He didn’t thank Rush, Sean, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, etc. Scott is right on some issues and even Mark says you have to find the common ground. We aren’t going to agree 100% with everything any politician says or does, but, it seems on this forum, one has to tow the line or be kicked to the curb.

Let’s give him time. Gosh, he hasn’t even been seated yet. I like his stance on national defense, lower taxes, less government, etc. He’s more like JFK in those areas. Heck, even JFK wouldn’t fit in with today’s DEMRAT party.

I don’t disagree. It’s the oldest debate in America, how pure do my associates have to be. I’ve just been reading about John Winthrop (”the forgotten founding father”) and Roger Williams, Massachusetts Bay Colony c 1635 and Winthrop vs. Ann Hutchinson. Although somehow, as history is written, Williams and Hutchinson are the champions of religious toleration, it was Winthrop who did all he could to hold the center.

As near as I can tell, the last time there were Republicans in Massachusetts more conservative than Brown was in 1920, with Governor Calvin Coolidge and Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, Sr. So Brown is the best man in 90 years — no small achievement.

Ronald Reagen used to say there was no limit to what can be accomplished if you don't care who gets the credit. I see this as a classic example of putting that into practice. Scott Brown is about as conservative a candidate as we could EVER hope to get into that Senate seat.

Seems to me Rush, Sean, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, etc. are more interested in getting an “un-liberal” in that seat than they are in getting credit for something.

If we let who got the job done more important than getting the job done then we're up the creek. Your admonishment "Let’s give him time" needs to be repeated. As often as necessary!

I guess he could have thanked all the talk show hosts, but that’s not normal for any campaign — I don’t remember McDonnell or Christie saying anything about talk show hosts.

As for Palin, she was silent on the race until the night before (for good reason, I believe), and I doubt she was giving “behind-the-scenes” support, since she would have no election machine in Massachusetts to help her. If and when she runs for President, she’ll need to either build a network in every state, or get the help of people in each state who have networks.

tow the line

Pardon me but it is "toe the line" not "tow". The expression comes from the old prize fighting days(back in the 19th and early 20th century and probably before that)when the fighters had to "toe the line", which was a line drawn in the dirt. Fighters had to put their toes on the mark to start the round, they weren't allowed to bounce around until after the starting bell had rung, not that they did much foot work back then anyway.

If the fighter failed to "toe the line"(sometimes called the mark)he was judged the loser of the match.

Just a little history lesson because I think our history should be preserved and not distorted.

I’m fine with supporting “green” energy, even if the motivation for it is wrong (global warming). Alternative energy is a great idea, if it can WORK in an AFFORDABLE, USEFUL fashion.

It depends on how he handles it. If he goes full-bore Cap and Trade, no way...but if it’s as simple as offering tax incentives for it, fine.
