Would you pay to go see Sarah Palin Speak? (POll needs serious Freeping)

A Canadian poll asks the question "would you pay to go see Sarah Palin Speak?" Our friends to the north have been sufficiently tainted by their left-wing media so that 90 percent of respondents say "no" to that question.

I would never pay to see a politician speak. I’ll contribute money to their campaigns and buy their books, but paying an admission fee is repulsive to me and it even seems un-American.

I could not agree more. We also need to consider that this is a CANADIAN poll asking CANADIANS whether they would pay to hear an AMERICAN political figure speak. I would be surprised if any of our politicians roused enough interest in Canadians to motivate them to pay for the honor of hearing that politician speak.

I’ve been out of the States for awhile. Do the Canadians vote in our elections now?

Well, in all fairness, who of us would pay to go hear some Canadian politician?
They would have to pay me to go listen to one.

I wonder how many Americans would pay to hear a Canadian politician speak. Most Americans don’t even know or care if Canada has politicians...or lights and indoor plumbing, for that matter!

I was looking at it more as a matter of paying to hear a leading conservative (who at the moment isn’t running for anything) with a #1 Best Selling book. I’ll crawl back in my cave now.

Why wouldn't they. There is not much to stop them.

Yes, I’m trying to think of the last Canadian pol whom an American organization paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to for headlining a fundraiser.

A couple weeks ago I paid to see a mediocre movie. If Sarah Palin had showed up instead I would have considered the money better spent. Paying to attend fundraisers is standard practise, so why not pay to hear someone you actally respect?

I voted yes, but only because of the rediculous framing of the question. Truth is, I wouldn’t pay to see Obama either. I wouldn’t pay to see any politician speak. But, the poll doesn’t allow for that answer.

Thousands are waiting in line just to se her while she signs their copy of her book.

Staying overnigh in front of book stores. Would they pay? Certainly they would if the price wasnt exceptionally high.

Fund raisers cost somtimes $1,000 a seat and the rich suport their candidate. Would I pay $1,000 to hear sarah? I would not. I would pay $20 bucks though and be there early for a good seat.

It’s time we the people had a $20 candidate. we see what the $1,000 payers have been giving us.It;s time we took the Presidency back from the rich.

I’ve never paid to hear anyone speak other than paying for college credits.

Oh, fer cryin' out loud....get with the program!

The object here is to freep the poll, not breast-beat and bleat self-righteously about not paying to hear a pol speak.

No wonder conservatives aren't too well known for being politically savvy.

Freeped and bumped.

Yea, no kidding. I live in Iowa and they practically pay to come see us. I’m exaggerating but there’s certainly no need to pay.

>>I was looking at it more as a matter of paying to hear a leading conservative (who at the moment isn’t running for anything) with a #1 Best Selling book.

I understood your point. But, if she isn’t running for office to change America back, then I don’t care to pay to hear her. If she is running for office, then I shouldn’t have to pay to hear her.

The #1 book is just an autobiography. When she writes a manifesto that lays out a detailed plan to fix America, then I might pay to hear her speak. After the Newt Gingrich flip-flops of the last few years, I’ve become even more cynical towards ex-politicians and “conservative leaders” until they show me a serious battle plan and stick to it even when the enemy says they “would like you better if you were just less conservative”.

Oh, I still voted Yes in the poll. But while conservatives don’t seem to be really politically savvy to you, we do think that individual views are more important than some simple YES/NO poll. This is especially true when the poll is designed to bash Sarah Palin, and not to bash the concept of the politcal class as people that the unwashed masses should PAY to hear.
