:’) My guess is, the real reason the Romans never wrapped things up in Caledonia is that the Roman period cooling kicked in; but western Scotland isn’t bad (so I hear), particularly if you’ve grown up in the Snow Belt.
Western Scotland is BEAUTIFUL....as is ALL of Scotland. One of my favorite places is Pennan...where the move ‘Local Hero’ was shot. Gosh...talk about ‘wild and free’! Gawd, I miss that place. I get teary thinking about it. *sniff*
