The family of Chris Privett wept in court Monday. So did the family of his killer, Gerald Davison.
But the 17-year-old simply smirked in court and offered a halfhearted apology for shooting the Palo Verde High School student in February 2008.
"I dont know how to apologize for for taking your son's life away," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "Sorry ain't going to cut it but that's all i can tell y'all. Sorry."

When the state refuses to exact the full price it’s up to the individual to obtain satisfaction and justice. That’s not at all “hard on the soul”. Rather, it is a fully justified act of rebellion against a evil government.
I do not share your optimism, but approve of the message.
A lot of people think that a bad person who goes to prison will be served justice by his prison mates. Sadly, that is not necessarily the case. The fellow prisoners do not always have a sense of honor (surprise!)
Molesters are a good example. Folks think that they are murdered left and right when incercerated, and it just does not happen, sadly.

Providing you’re stupid enough to trust the guys in prison to keep quiet. Remember the guy that hired a prisoner to kill the thug who murdered his parents? His hiree filled a light bulb in the perps cell with gasoline killing the thug. Problem was that after he got caught he sang like a bird, and now mom and dad are still dead, but jr is serving life in prison for conspiracy to commit murder. Does that honestly sound like a good deal to you?

Right. That whole notion that molesters and rapists are maltreated in prison is pretty much a myth. The wind up talking shop with other molesters and rapists, and there have been numerous cases where they teamed up after being released.
There’s certainly risk. On the other hand people get murdered in prisons everywhere all the time ~ ain’t no thang.

If I were the victim’s dad in this case, I’d do whatever I had to do to end the life of the person who murdered my son. I’d also turn myself in afterward and let a jury decide my fate.

I don’t believe my question is racist, nor my observation of modern America is off base. I am unaware of Stormfront. I guess it is a skinhead site. So what specifically do you see in my comment that would lead you to this conclusion? Do blacks prefer self segregation to integration? How many black fraternities, civic groups, professional groups, etc. exist? Contrast that with the number of exclusively white groups. This begs my question: if integration is a failure and self segregation is in fact the status quo, where do we go from here? How do you interpret this question as racist? I read a story where two blacks shoot a white kid for being white and then ask where is our country is going with respect to race relations and you see Stormfront? I believe you are off base. Do you really believe that the Jacksons, Sharptons and Wrights support integration??
My question is pretty objective, if integration isn’t working and people are self segregating, then what is the next move? I believe I have asked a meaningful and honest question. I would expect an honest answer.
Awful difficult to coverup a murder in jail. On the other hand stuff does happen.
I think you’d be surprised to learn how integrated society as a whole is, and how comfortably most people of all races live together. I know that my world is filled with friends, acquaintances, and family of all hues. Criminals come in all shades.

Yes, Richard Speck bragged how he could get anything he wanted in prison and was notorius for keeping a photo of one of his victims in his cell. He even used harmones to develop breasts.
Child killers Loeb and Leopold are one of the best arguments for the death penalty despite Clarence Darrow’s famous use of their case to fight capital punishment. At first the twosome were to be kept separate in prison but soon they were together doing choice jobs like working in the library. Later Leopold was released (so much for Life plus 99 years) and lived the sweet life in Puerto Rico.
Doesn’t matter to a guy that is serving life already. All he needs to do is make it look as though it wasn’t premeditated, and all he’ll get is another life term, at most. In the meantime, his family and “family” (gang) get the money.
Well, there is that, too, although not so much. It’s their friends and family on the outside that make the arrangements.

I know full well that some of America is integrated - but don’t give me the polly anna - some of my best friends are black and everything is fine crap - I am talking about a significant identifiable black subculture in every major city in the US. I am asking whether this sub-culture that accounts for +70% of all violent crimes does not find integration as a viable, attractive, and meaningful option to them and have chosen a self-segrated gangster lifestyle. Not so simple. The guy doing life will do pretty much anything to keep what few privileges he has. Bad guys in that predicament are pretty quick to deal, and turn on those who hired them to keep from being shipped to a super-max or otherwise more miserable prison. Then what is the guy who hired him gonna do? Ask his family for the money back? Get real. Face facts, a guy so lacking in morals that he’ll kill for money is going to be quick to turn on you if it likewise benefits him in any way.

You live in a different world. One of my 3 Brothers is an ex-con, spent more than 24 years of his life, in aggregate, behind bars. Chino, CMC, Preston, Tehachapi, Soledad, Folsom. Trust me when I tell you this, you haven’t a clue. And you really don’t want one, either.
