VANITY: Did Palling around with Terrorist Pay off with Prize?

Every one was surprised that the President who has only served 9 months was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Even more surprising was that he must have been nominated less than 12 days after his inauguration, since the closing date for this year's nominees was 1 February.

Strangely enough no one seems to have wondered who actually did suggest Obama as a nominee. Let's have a look at the possible nominators. Here is the list of people and organizations that are allowed to nominate from the Norwegian Nobel site::

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;
2. Members of international courts;
3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;
4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee;
7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

Plenty of suspects all around. The Nowegian Nobel Committtee sends out a large number of letters early autumn to eligible "nominators". Unfortunately for us the names of the other nominees and the people nominating them wil be kept secret for the next 50 years according to the Nobel rules. It is only if the nominators themselves divulge who they nominated that the names will be made public. So plenty of time to guess.

However, I would like to direct your attention to the third group:

3. University rectors; professors of social sciences

Do we know a professor of social sciences who has been intimately connected with Zero's rise to power? Someone who even claims to have written his autobiography? Someone who would be certain of the president's goal that he didn't feel it was premature to nominate him after only 10 days as president?

COULD IT HAVE BEEN BILL AYERS WHO NOMINATED OBAMA?

Don't say it doesn't pay to pall around with terrorists?

Last week, Obama went to Denmark, ostensibly to pitch Chicago to "the world". Instead, he pitched himself, and the world did not choose Chicago.

This week, "the world" again chose Obama himself.

Obama hasn't helped our standing in the world. He's helped his own standing in the world.

My post during his live presser this moring:

His staffer(s) may have formalized the applications, but, if so, they did it with his consent.

Yes, but there are a few other suspects like Al Gore and Jimmah Carter to add to the list. I'd include Yasser Arafat but he's no longer with us.

ACORN took care of that problem.

Al Gore and ol’ jimmah are certainly on the list, but I am pretty certain that their pride would have stopped the from nominating young Zero.

You have a much higher opinion of Al and Jimmah than I do. They’re role models for Zero.

ACORN? Not sure I get the connection. I thought it was AIDS.

AIDS was what killed Arafat. ACORN would bring him back to life so he could nominate Obama. They’re experts at bringing the dead back to life.

I’m a little slow today. If you’d said Mayor Daley or Chicago I’d have picked up on it though.
