Coming to a town near you.
Well, FWIW, it may discourage the folks who are using the ER for a walk-in clinic...
Lawsuit waiting to happen. Someone will see a long wait time displayed, they will turn around and go home, have a heart attack, and sue the hospital for discouraging them from coming.
Seriously though, wait times really make no difference because the ER nurses triage the patients, so depending on your symptoms, you might get seen right away.
Potential ER Visitor:”I stubbed my toe, I think I’ll go to the emergency room, I wonder how long the wait is”
Acquaintance:”Call your friend in the billboard neighborhood”
PEV: “Great Idea”*dial/ring*”Hi, what’s the time on the billboard?”
Billboard Neighbor:”It says 4 hours”
PEV:”Thanks for the Info”
PEV:”I’m calling an Ambulance, I’m not waiting THAT long”
They should display the average wait times for Canada and the UK right along side the wait times for Central Florida Regional Hospital and Osceola Regional Medical Center’s emergency rooms.
For example:
= = =
Emergency room wait times:
Central Florida Regional Hospital: 105 minutes
Osceola Regional Medical Center: 45 minutes
Canada (Average): 4 days
UNited Kingdom (Average): 8 days
1440000 minutes is 1000 days. This figure should be helpful after 0bamaCare.
Anyone who is on welfare and who goes to the ER should have the cost of the care taken out of their benefits.
I’m not sure of what their point is.
Wait until there aren’t any doctors.
must do alot of hardship business
Gee, I guess this means that the gubmint plans to build more emergency rooms...
My pastor (Los Angeles area) recently took his daughter to the emergency room. Their wait? Eighteen hours! If we had those billboards here, with the accurate wait times, it might just wake a few people up.
Now if we can just get the post offices to put the clocks back up.
