Consider Steve LaTourette, congressman from Ohio. He’s my Congressman and I have yet to have been disappointed in him. He organized the Republicans in the house to take a unified stand against the first bailout, opposed Cap and Trade, and has been faithfully opposing Obamacare.

I think the whole system is set up to reward failure. In a lot of cases a situation would be better off if left alone, but we only reward politicians for “doing something.” They're constantly running around looking for a situation that they can turn into a crisis so they can “do something.” Their primary job is to get reelected and that requires them to “do something” to bring federal tax dollars to their district. They can be the biggest bonehead tax and spend idiot on the planet, but as long as they're bringing in federal tax dollars to their district they're going to get reelected. A reelection also requires a lot of cash, so they like to “do something” that rewards the biggest contributers.

I’m not sure I could name more than two or three I’d brake for in a crosswalk. . .

And I’d be being generous with those.

Didn’t God promise to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if he could find just one righteous man...??

Just sayin’...

I’m talking about honest (not stuffing $80,000 in the fridge) moral (not cheating on your spouse with a brazilian firecracker) conservative (belief in the original reading of the Constitution and the values of capitalism that has made us so prosperous) You can differ with an honest politician about specific issues (you also have the right to vote them out if they differ from you) I’m talking about the fundamental character of a man or women in office. Have we really reached the state when we cannot readily name a couple honest politicians out of at least 588 important national and state positions?

This would be like the messengers of God trying to find one decent man in the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah!

yep - that took a LOT of time!!!

We know what sodomy is. Have you ever wondered what the folks in Gomorrah were doing that was so bad that we don't even have a word for it?!?

I don’t think it is possible. Just in order to get elected, they have to say and promise what they know people want to hear.
