Thanks for all the lovely pings! I’ve been checking and enjoying , just too busy to reply.

I’ve been canning beans and what few maters we’ve managed to grow. :) Got about 30 quarts of beans, one gal of tomatoes so far.

The new gbaby is a month old already—where did it go?

Both my sisters and my niece and nephews were down for the weekend. My mom came over and we ate—a lot :)—and walked on the beach and lazed around.

Can’t take too much of freeper besides you guys and the gardening thread and swampsniper’s bird pics. It’s just too depressing. I find my life is much better if I play ostrich. I know the bad things are out there, but I can’t do anything about most of them anyway. I have enough to take care of with family and work and the garden and...

The DC freepathon sounds great, and we’re having a teaparty here in Morehead City NC on the 4th. I have to work but may make it late in the afternoon. :)

Anyway, y’all, thanks for brightening my days!

Have a great week!

Well, L. J., I liked this one and also your 2597.....BUT I have studied your “Freedom” and I must not be cultured enough to understand that one. I have gone back and read and re-read when I heard the discussion and I’m afraid its way above me or maybe its just not my kind of poetry, prose or whatever it is.....LOL! Do you understand?

When I posted my little poem, I was on some page and saw an awful lot of poetry on hating America and I guess I was very surprised that there were so many. And maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at all.

Oh, what a gorgeous picture, Meg! I was so disappointed to hear that your daughter isn’t able to go. Maybe next time! At least he will come to see her after his deployment is completed.

Thank you for all your very pretty graphics and greetings to all of us. You are a dear hostess! Have a good evening!

Hi gardengirl...so good to see you! When you tell us what all you are doing, it makes me tired. You are a little worker, thats for sure. When I was younger, I could work like that too....but no more..LOL!

Hi back! I’ve missed you guys! Sounds like y’all are all busy too.

Every year I find more and more that I can’t do. That is such a pain. It is hard to have to ask for help, but I’ve learned the hard way that it’s better to swallow my pride than hurt for days because I did something I know better than to attempt. LOL

One of the older ladies puts me to shame. She’s in her 80’s. Told me the other day she’d put up 130 quarts of beans and was shooting for 150! Course, she’s not working, but she did for a lot of years.

Well... I was not only reading the wrong half but was doing so with the wrong mindset.

Connor posted some Donne and tho Donne speaketh with a thicke sixteenth century accent, I am yet able to kin that of whiche he hath spake.

But I couldn’t do the same with Gibran although he wrote less than a century ago. Guess it’s just me since nobody had a problem.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

June 29, 2009
Macauley
I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” —Isaiah 6:8

Macauley Rivera, one of my dearest friends in Bible college, had a passion for the Savior. His heart’s desire was to graduate, marry his fiancée Sharon, return to the inner city of Washington, DC, and plant a church to reach his friends and family for Christ.

That dream ended, however, when Mac and Sharon were tragically killed in an accident, leaving the student body stunned at the loss. At Mac’s memorial service, the challenge was issued: “Mac is gone. Who will serve in his place?” As evidence of the impact of Mac’s example, more than 200 students stood to take up the mantle of Christ’s fallen servant.

The response of those students echoes the commitment of Isaiah. In a time of fear and insecurity, the prophet was summoned into the throne room of God, where he heard Him say, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Isaiah responded, “Here am I! Send me” (Isa. 6:8).

God still calls men and women to be His ambassadors today. He challenges us to serve Him—sometimes close to home, sometimes in distant lands. The question for us is, How will we respond to His call? May God give us the courage to say, “Here am I! Send me.”

Take the task He gives you gladly;
Let His work your pleasure be;
Answer quickly when He calleth,
“Here am I, send me, send me.” —March

Whom God calls, He qualifies; whom He qualifies, He sends.

Good morning!!!

Awake and take the day, it is a gift from God!

First, breakfast!

(Hot cereal is on the side table)

And something to ponder,

The Promise

Of love I whisper soft in your ear
and with a gentled hand dispel tears
Hold you tight, and let the warmth bond so
and in the quiet of the night, let love grow

Sheltering you from all the wrath of life
and cradle you, away from all the strife
A sanctuary amid the storm's fury rage
into the waiting morning, a lifetime's age

As it becomes harder to be Christian in this secular world, and with the subtle and often harsh pressures against all of faith, may I share this.

PLEASE READ WITH FAITH.

This is an awesome prayer.

Believe it and you shall be blessed.

The problem with many of us is that we don’t believe that God will open a window and pour out blessings that we won’t have room to receive them. I dare anyone to try God. He is true to His word. God cannot lie and His promises are sure.

Three things will happen to you this coming week:

(1) You will find favor with someone you don’t expect;

(2) You will be too relevant to be ignored;

(3) You will encounter God, and you will never remain the same again.

My prayer for you today:

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, the hands that will send this message to others shall not labor in vain, the mouth saying Amen to this prayer shall laugh forever. Remain in God’s love as you send this prayer to everybody on your list. Have a lovely journey of life! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will never fail you because He is AWESOME !

If you truly need a blessing, continue reading:

Heavenly Father,
most Gracious and Loving God, I pray to you that you abundantly bless my family and me.
I know that you recognize, that a family is more than just a mother, father, sister, brother, husband and wife, but all who believe and trust in you.
Father, I send up a prayer request for blessings for not only the person who sent this to me, but for me and all that I share this message with.
And that the power of joined prayer by those who believe and trust in you is more powerful than anything. I thank you in advance for your blessings.

Father God, deliver the person reading this right now from debt and debt’s burdens.
Release your Godly wisdom that I may be a good steward over all that You have given me Father, for I know how wonderful and mighty you are, and how if we just obey you and walk in your Word and have the faith of a mustard seed, that you will pour out blessings.
I thank you now Lord for the recent blessings I have received and for the blessings yet to come, because I know you are not done with me yet.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
