I think with this daytime photo it's a little easier to make out:

She didnt notice that thing when she took the picture? How much of a buzz did she have? Actually some years ago I was at a military air show in Europe and something very similar happened. I was at the edge of the airfield with my two sons so I could see the jets fly by us very close at subsonic speeds, and was able to see some strange thing sitting up in the sky observing all the aircraft. Military forces from all over the world were there (Deblin, Poland) including the USA and Russia. I told my wife about it and she thought I was hallucinating, later, in the local press and the German science monthly "Focus" appeared some photos that a Polish colonel had taken of some French "Alpha" jets... in the picture was a clear picture of a UFO exactly like some photographed at other locations around the world.
During the air show, nobody saw a thing.
Years later, I took a bunch of pics at an air show and had some strange things show up. I decided that since I had a digital camera, I would just shoot a thousand pictures and did... in one of them was a strange object that I did not observe while watching the show.

The city of London has 10,000 CCTV security cameras so I am sure if this large UFO did exist, it would end up on some of those.
Someone recently observed why cell phones can pick up pictures of some types of objects and not normal cameras.
It seems that it is because normal cameras are optical in nature and cell phones have CCD (Capacitive Discharge) imaging. That is the explanation but I don't totally understand it but I do know that the images on CCD cells are much more sensitive and give far better resolution on even normal objects.

Your phone and a London security camera both use CCD chips. Both detect photons in the same way.

Despite Torchwood's leanings, we like it a lot. It is a better made production than a lot of stuff here.

First of all in digital photography, CCD stands for Charge-Coupled Device not Captive Discharge Imaging.
Secondly while digital cameras are better at picking up incidental light than photographic film cameras, cell phone cameras are no different than other digital cameras including digital video cameras (security cameras) in this respect and cell phone cameras are usually of a lesser quality than mid to upper range digital cameras i.e. not as many pixels.
Lastly, highly sensitive, high-resolution CCD chips are very expensive and would not be found in any cell phone camera I know of and even a lot of professional photographers cant afford them. For a digital camera to pick up an object like that, in the dark, would require the type of CCD chips that NASA uses.
But I will say that even the crappiest digital camera can download a picture to a computer where someone with a little time and minimal skills in Photoshop can make some really cool images.

And I cannot understand why a society technologically capable of building these advanced spaceships is unable to prevent so many of them from crashing...

haha I believe you are right. That would also explain why there were 3 pics of it.
