I remember when London smelled like the fish & chips. No longer. Several years ago I noticed the smell of London had changed completely. It was very sad. I love curry and felafel's, but that's not London.

I remember a time before falafel, but I don't remember a time before curry. How long has it been since you've been in London? (maybe the 1840s?)

Amen. Do these “OMG they’re serving Muslims what they want” folks complain about Kosher McDonald’s in Isreal, or fast foot restaurants that don’t serve beef in India? Give us a break. There are areas of London where most people demand Halal style food. Therefore KFC, as any good company would do, caters the menu to the local tastes.

BTW, for the conspiracy theorists out there, did you know that it’s next to impossible to find white meat chicken at KFC in China? Obviously it must be some evil Red Commie conspiracy. No, actually Chinese people much prefer dark meat poultry (legs, thighs, etc.), so KFC caters to their tastes.

I’m a paying customer, and I want sausage on my pizza.

Does KFC serve pizza?

I visited Paris about 10 years ago and noticed how popular McDonalds was. I also noticed that their advertised menu was quite different than what you find in the U.S. (Of course I didn’t visit the Paris McDonalds. The French may be weenies, but they are weenies that can really cook).

IIRC, McDonalds in Maine serve lobster rolls. Never tried them because I was too busy stuffing my face at Mabel’s - the best lobster joint in Kennebunkport (and possibly the world).

Whewwww. I was worried about where that was going and that I'd have to swat you with a baguette.

The article mentioned Dominoes. BTW, how do they propose to guarantee that a Muslim kills every chicken? Just ridiculous.

I have a house on the Isle of Man and am in London once or twice a year. Walking past an Indian restaurant or thru the Indian/Sri Lankian parts of the city, in the past, was different from now and never getting out from under the smell of Eastern food.

But thanks for the simpering sarcasm.

Well, if snotty is the best I can do...

I was shooting for snarky or, at least snide, but I guess I’ll just have to keep trying ;)

Whiffy?

I'm trying to stay away from the over-used and tiresome (but I do like snarky...great word).
