I agree with your appraisal of the situation. What optimism I have... comes from knowing God is ultimately in control....
Also worth remembering... The “hardcore” jihadists (and maybe even other “sects” of Islam) believe that they have to USHER IN the 12th Imam by actually creating the violence and chaos necessary to fulfill the prophecies in the Koran and the Hadiths.

I guess you read wrong.
The text most plausibly indicates that the generation that sees Israel become a nation again in a day [1948] will see the rest of the END TIMES prophecies also come true.
THERE’S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to shoehorn all the END TIMES PROPECIES into the 100 years after Christ’s dusty pathed days.
NO WAY REMOTELY POSSIBLE.
Preterists et al are brain dead to even imagine such a thing.

I haven't met anyone, but have read a few things and listened to a few on the subject of end times prophecies, since I was in Jr.HS 30+ years ago.
I base EVERYTHING off of scripture. But what amazes me, is everything I have been watching for is falling into place. Whether it be commentators or the word itself.
When you see with your very own eyes, you must admit prophecy is being fulfilled.
If Bible prophecy, which was prophecied 2,000 and more years ago, is being fulfilled before our eyes, it makes sense that ALL prophecy will be fulfilled as the Bible says.
