Dallas, TX (AHN) - FedEx Corporation sponsored on Tuesday a one-day free printing of resumes for Americans in search of jobs as the courier firm's way of assisting laid off workers.

The service was available at any of FedEx's over 1,600 Office Print and Ship Centers in the U.S. during business hours. The offer is limited to 25 copies of black-and-white resumes per person. Requests for the free printing must be placed and later picked up in-store.

The resumes could either be in print format or as digital file.

In a statement, FedEx president and chief executive officer Brian Philips said, "We understand that the economy has affected many people in a very profound way, and we want to help... Printing resumes is one small we can use our resources to help those who need it."

Minor error in article: Brian Phillips is President of FedEx Office. Fred Smith is still Chairman and CEO of all FedEx. FedEx Office was formerly known as FedEx Kinkos.

That’s nice of Kinko’s..but I known throughout the years when employees know they are on a sinking ship, they use the office printer to print out their resumes before the axe falls.
