The film's chief value lies in illustrating the moment of time. It's one thing to assume racism or ignorance is still alive and played a role in how some people voted, quite another to see how Pelosi found it and stuck a camera in its face. Still, there was enough concern about how this would be taken that HBO and Pelosi made a last-minute change to a printed introduction to the film.

Whether this “documentary” is “propaganda” or not, if Pelosi’s daughter caught people on camera at Republican rallies making racist remarks, it will be the death of the Republican party.

She was a guest on Hannity the other night and GOOD GREIF! what an annoying person...i hate to be mean, but i really just wanted to choke her through the TV...she would NOT shut up...i appreciate what she did through this documentary and i am suprised it is coming from someone like her...it is good to see she is nothing like her mother.
This is the way they counter the public’s growing suspicion that obama is failing. Demonize Republicans - that should do the trick.

What a lying little pos this spawn of stretch is. The opposition to Zero had NOTHING to do with the color of his skin and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he was the most inexperienced, most liberal, most unprepared, most unqualified candidate to ever be forced upon the American people.
Second of all, I can count on the fingers of one-hand the number of people I personally know or contacted as a volunteer for the Palin* campaign that had any problem with Oba Mao's race . . . and we contacted hundreds! The vast majority of us would have enthusistically supported a real African-American like Dr. Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams or even a moderate like Michael Steele.
* Yes, I said the Palin campaign, because McCain was baggage even if he was the top of the ticket. I know, because our local GOP Hq. couldn't give away McCain lawn signs before Sarah joined the ticket and couldn't keep them in stock afterward.

Well the title alone spells out her mistake. She assumed that those on the right were the one supporting McCain AND decided they were also republicans.
I truly believe that many of the loud, outrageous comments picked up by news microphones at these rallies were made by dem plants as in, "Let's take off our 'Hope' t-shirts, put on a trucker cap and scream "Obama is a n-er!" at a Palin rally! It'll make the repukes look like the bigots we say they are!"

I’m willing to bet there are more racists in the Democrat party. If you count black racism toward whites, she’d have enough material for a mini-series. Anything in her documentary about Robert Byrd and his past?
Ms. Pelosi, can you tell my why Republicans would vote for any Democrat let alone this one? The racism on display in 2008 came from your party’s voters. You know, the ones who would vote for a Democrat normally but wouldn’t vote for this one because he was black?
Assuming that Republicans didn’t vote for this Democrat is like saying “If that rock over there doesn’t get up and start singing and dancing in the next 10 minutes, it’s clearly racist.” And then in 11 minutes declaring the rock’s total lack of movement as proof positive that all rocks everywhere are racist. It is logically and intellectually dishonest.

The history that you described of African slave traders needs to be publicized. Most people think whites sold Africans into slavery. This is one of those revisionist thoughts like teh Civil War was fought to free the slaves.
