You need to diversify. Not just in financials but also in how you live. By all means, you should possess gold and silver coins, just in case the dollar collapses. You will be able to use it for bartering for good and services. Make sure you have a large stash of food and water, (like rice, beans, wheat, etc) stored in 5 gallon pails. Make sure you have firearms and ammo to protect yourself and family. You will need these things when the government goes bankrupt. Try to think about how the Amish people live. This knowledge will be needed when society collapses. It’s just a matter of time. This country is headed for a true Mad Max scenario.

In tough times like these, I take to heart the sages words of that all-knowing philosopher John “Bluto” Blutarski: “My advice to you is start drinking heavily.”
If I were younger, just starting out, I'd be planning that move now. I'm still hopeful we'll see a ballot box revolution in 2010. If it doesn't happen, especially if it's another blowout for the bad guys, it may be time for me to start considering this too.
