Too bad Jobs is so ill, this company is going to plummet in value when he passes. Without him they’re nothing.

neat, but what the heck is Apple doing not coming back next year?

This is when they announce new products, so what will they do in the future?

Yeah nothing like the Apple Marketing Department using Free Republic to shill their product!

“Music teachers worldwide faint en masse.” <— Contrived nonsense.

Nice to see the new 17-inch Macbook Pro.

Just wish a matte screen was available for the 15-inch.

Does anybody know of a good anti-glare cover or something for when you are outside?

I am hoping to get a Macbook Pro by April or so, but my wife’s HP glossy screen is virtually unusable when driving in the car during the day, not a good thing when she got a air card so she can use the internet while driving.

Kind of expecting to see a new version of the Mac Mini. Also a bit surprised to not see revamped iMacs with LED backlighting.

Re: Jobs so ill.

Jobs has a hormone imbalance as a side effect of the “Whipple Procedure” surgery for removal of part of his pancreas which cured his pancreatic cancer four years ago. Otherwise he is healthy. Jobs released a statement on his health yesterday.

Re: shill products

If you’re not interested don’t read it. I assure you the 350 or so other Freepers who are members of the Mac Ping List are interested and don’t consider it “shilling.”

...she got a air card so she can use the internet while driving.

That sounds kind of scary.

Re: new Mac Mini and iMacs.

I suspect there is going to be some major announcement in about three weeks when the 30th anniversary of the Mac rolls around.

They'll do their own thing, maybe at the developer conference. Apple has said they've slowly started to pull out of all of these shows. Of course mainly Apple fans watch these anyway, so maybe as the fans start getting to be a smaller and smaller percentage of the user base there will be no shows anymore, and Apple will rely on regular advertising venues.

Other Freepers can think what they like, this Freeper sees it for what it is.

A little “astro-turfing” is good for sales no? About Jobs disease, Magic Johnson has AIDs, “otherwise” he is healthy as well. A little otherwise goes a long way friend. And I personally think Apple is trying to pull out of those shows because they can’t keep up the creative pace.

But what do I know? I’m only their target demographic.

So in a year where they released new iPhones, new laptops, new screens and the app store they can’t keep up the creative pace? I bet the competition would hate to see them when they really get to rocking and a rolling.

My most favorite thing is a matte finish to the 17-inch Mac Pro.

Hopefully they will allow that on the 15-inch.

Not when they have to pay an army of astro-turfers to create an artificial demand via fad.

Al Gore on their board of directors and you’re on Free Republic shilling their products?
