he was known to be a brutal military commander who shot his unarmed enemies and even his own fighters in cold blood... Guevara is reported to have been responsible for the deaths of between 180 and "thousands" of prisoners. While the exact figures might be disputed, there is no doubt about his involvement... Guevara wrote: "To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary. These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution. And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate."

Thanks Civ for posting this.

Che Guevara had the good fortune to die young and handsome. Pretty enough for a T shirt.

Had he lived, he would just have been another Arafat with a cigar and a Spanish accent. Deep down, no matter what the myth and image remake, terrorists and totalitarian dictators were, are, and always will be, evil.

*Yawn* It’s been done before. In 1969 a movie about him came out called “Che!”, starring Omar Sharif as Che Guevara and Jack Palance as Fidel Castro.

I remember how “The Book of Lists” nominated it as one of the ten worst movies of all time. They’re probably only making another Che movie because the director figures he can do it right next time. Sounds like the reason why leftists want to give communism another chance, doesn’t it?
