I can imagine the jokes already.
So where’s the $300 million now?
Don’t try to compete with the state numbers racket (yes, the lottery). They’ll smash you up!
“Anurag Dikshit, founder of Internet gambling company PartyGaming PLC”
Omgosh....LOLOLOL....
Worst. Name. Ever.
With a name like that, he was doomed from the start.
That has to be an alias... This is in San Francisco right? nuff said.
Thought you’d like this one.
thank God for the mercy of not having that last name
I sleep better at night knowing the career hacks at DOJ are keeping me safe from .....gambling.

As an aside, this should never be illegal, and the law that made this illegal was a blatant nanny state idea shoved on us by a coalition of the Huckabee wing and special interests in gambling areas (e.g., Vegas).
It happened while when the Republicans had fairly solid majorities in both the House and Senate (less so, Senate).
The second it happened, I said, “the Republicans are about to lose power, and they deserve it.”
I still say that.
The moment this law was passed the RNC started to lose the small-l libertarian vote as well as the general small government vote.
Complete B.S.
(And no, I am not remotely a big gambler.)
Yep.
i bet he caught heck in school
Didn’t know what to expect when clicking on that link to see his picture...hah
His name is appropriate for where he’s headed for two years.
This movement has more than Huckabee-types for members. Powerful gambling competitors are in on it too. In western states where there are Indian casinos, the biggest lobbyists by far are they. Outdistancing the traditional ones like trial lawyers. They are very deft at hiding themselves.
A couple of years ago there was a sensible horse racing measure on the CA ballot. It never stood a chance, with the Indian casinos having a lopsided cash impact that bordered on the ridiculous. I was helping a friend battle alcoholism (eventually succeeding, btw) and spending long dreary hours in bars with him. The bar TV was my only salvation. The stream of “anti” ads was breathtaking.
I agree. i wonder who was doing the betting. they would not let me play poker after the law was passed even though i still had a balance in my poker account. they refunded my balance promptly and without argument. i had more confidence in the honesty of their site than any other on the net. they did a thorough credit check on me before they would accept my funds and let me play there. i did well playing there. the other sites just took money from anybody and i often felt like i was being taken advantage of at those sites by 1 or 2 players with multiple accts and multiple computers.
