Physical attractiveness is important in choosing whom to date. Good looking people are not only popular targets for romantic pursuits, they themselves also tend to flock together with more attractive others. Does this mean then that more attractive versus less attractive people wear a different pair of lens when evaluating others attractiveness?

That's a weird ending to that article.
It makes it sound like those who can't find someone attractive can learn to be happy with someone with character, instead.
If that is the real conclusion, beauty, intelligence, and heart can't really go together.

Uh, not really.
Looks don't last.
Oh, wait, never mind. ('
Dating' does not necessarily equal '
looking for someone to marry')

WELL. FIRST of all, it should be "can people love the one with WHOM THEY ARE COMPATIBLE....no matter what they look like...because, in the long run, grammar is more important than gorgeous skin...after all, over time...grammar will last....but that skin will get wrinkly and...."!
(oops....went on a bit of a rant, there!!!)

A man does not insist on physical beauty in a
woman who builds up his morale.
After a while he realizes that she is beautiful,
he just hadn’t noticed it at first.

‘Beauty’ is skin deep, ugly goes clean to the bone.
Often, ‘beauty’ is painted over ugly.
Real beauty is rarely visible. (Unless you know to look for it)
Many, don’t even know to look.

Okay, maybe I’m showing a bias, but I am aware of many couples where the wife is gorgeous and the husband, “so so”, in the looks department. All are happily married. I know very few good looking men who married women who were not beauties. What does that say? I think it says woman are more likely to look at character than looks when selecting a spouse.

Being attractive is not all it's cracked up to be.
We ugly people are the overwhelming majority, and have yet to assert the power inherent in our numbers.
