God's World
Edna St. Vincent Millay

O world, I cannot hold thee close enough!
Thy winds, thy wide grey skies!
Thy mists that roll and rise!
Thy woods, this autumn day, that ache and sag
And all but cry with colour! That gaunt crag
To crush! To lift the lean of that black bluff!
World, World, I cannot get thee close enough!
Long have I known a glory in it all,
But never knew I this;
Here such a passion is
As stretcheth me apart. Lord, I do fear
Thou'st made the world too beautiful this year.
My soul is all but out of me, let fall
No burning leaf; prithee, let no bird call.

What is a troll? The traditional definition of a troll refers to a member of a community or usenet group who makes posts deliberately designed to attract responses of outrage or indignation. It is the troll's intent to "hook" unsuspecting members into responding, (hence the term "trolling"), thus providing him/her self with the satisfaction of knowing they have impact on others. A distinction must be made between true trolls, newbies who are undergoing growing pains as they attempt to adjust to community standards, and regular community members who simply have strong but otherwise harmless, dissenting opinions. Trolls should be removed, newcomers assisted, and contributing community members given at least a modicum of respectful distance.

I know this is not the kind of trolls you listed in your Holiday Celebrations, but since Oesy brought it up, I couldn't help it....LOL~~~Isn't he ugly? UGLY!

Waiting For Joy
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. —Psalm 30:5

A large part of life centers around anticipation. How much we would lose if we were to wake up one day to the unexpected announcement: “Christmas in 10 minutes!” The enjoyment in many of life’s events is built on the fact that we have time to anticipate them.

Christmas, vacations, mission trips, sporting events. All grow in value because of the hours we spend looking forward to them—eagerly running through our minds the fun, challenges, and excitement they’ll bring.

I think about the value of anticipation and the thrill it can bring to the human heart when I read Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” The psalmist is declaring the comforting idea that our earthly sorrow lasts but a short time when compared with the anticipated joy that will begin in heaven and last forever. Paul pens a similar idea in 2 Corinthians 4:17, where we discover that our “light affliction” leads to a glory of eternal value.

For now, those of us who weep can dwell on hope instead of hopelessness and anticipation instead of sorrow. It may be nighttime in our hearts, but just ahead lies the dawn of eternity. And with it, God promises the endless joy of heavenly morning.

Tribulation, grief, and sorrow
Are but heaven’s steppingstones
To a bright and glad tomorrow
Where no heartache can be known. —Glass

We can endure this life’s trials because of the next life’s joys.

Good Morning! December 1st! Wow.
What a great devotional to start the month out.
I certainly do have a lot to do to be ready on the 25th. I don’t think we are going to do a lot this year. Most gifts will be in money form!

Blessings to you all here at Amy’s!

Good definition, jaycee!

Do Not Feed The Trolls:

1. Do not respond in kind to a blog troll.
Blog trolls feed on arousing the ire of their targets. If you feed a blog troll by equaling his vitriol, then he will come back for more. Instead, think of ways to speak kind words in all your communication with a blog troll.

Proverbs 26:4 - “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him.”

2. Do not demand an apology for bad behavior from a blog troll. This tactic generally encourages the blog troll to dig in and to defend the righteousness of his cause all the more. This leads to more rude and caustic commentary, and the cycle starts all over again.

Proverbs 12:15 - “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes.”

3. Do not attempt to correct or to rebuke the blog troll in the comments thread or in any other public forum. That only leads to more nasty conflict. If you feel that you have been wronged, then the private confrontation enjoined in Matthew 18:15 is probably the best way forward. Try to get the blog troll’s e-mail address, and resolve the matter there.

Proverbs 17:10 – “A rebuke goes deeper into one who has understanding Than a hundred blows into a fool.”
Proverbs 27:22 - “Though you grind a fool in a mortar, grinding him like grain with a pestle, you will not remove his folly from him.”
Matthew 18:15 - “And if your brother sins, go and reprove him in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.”

4. Do not acknowledge the comments of an unrepentant blog troll. If the blog troll is unresponsive to your private efforts to get him to play nice, then you should ignore his comments thence forward. Once again, do not feed a blog troll. It only makes him bigger. If everyone will simply pay no attention to blog troll comments, then the blog troll will eventually go away.

.

How much longer until the cast comes off?

I don't see many movies; I took Marissa to two this year,
which is more than the total I've seen in the past 5 years.

I am not on the threads much where they have that problem, but occasionally I see a few folks get into it. I try to remain a by-stamder amd just watch!

I liked the way it was compared to Bible scripture!

All That is Gold Does Not Glitter

  All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
