The Palin Effect

Okay, after seriously considering not voting anymore, I'm back on board. First of all, is there already a Sarah Palin rule akin to the Ann Coulter rule: must show pic. Also if anyone from Alaska is reading this, I'm from Illinois so if you have any of those Sarah Palin for Governor signs or bumper stickers left, I'd really appreciate you sending them my way. You know, in case this whole veep thing doesn't work out...

It’s the Coulter Rule, and the Palin Corollary.

The XM Radio Potus 08 Team noted last night that they could not find ONE McCain/Palin 08 sign on the floor last night after the roll call...all of them had been taken by delegates, etc.

In contrast to all the signs and flags thrown away as trash in Denver.

As soon as she came out in her VP speech I was with her, all the way.
And yesterday in the nomination speech, she even exceeded my highest expectations.

What a great American.

I’m in agreement, as my tagline states.

Don’t the rules state that you should have been the one posting pics? It’s so confusing. ;-)

.

.

Here’s how I’ve been bumping Palin/Obama threads.

Sung to the tune of “Oh! Susanna, don’t you cry for me.”

“Oh, no Bama, please don’t lie to me... for I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.”

I come from Minnesota with my laptop on my knee;
I’m goin’ to Free Republic my true love for to see.
It rained all night the day I left,
the weather it was dry;
The sun so hot I froze to death,
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I come from Minnesota,
with my laptop on my knee.

I had a dream the other night,
When everything was still;
I thought I saw Obama dear,
A-coming for The Hill.
The smearing lie was in Duluth,
The tear was in his eye,
Said I, I’m coming for the truth
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic,
with my laptop on my knee.

I fight in my pajamas,
It’s plain for all to see.
I aim to be the next Buckhead;
The media all hate me.
I fell in love with Sarah
When my sister bit a moose.
The Guvnor’s family ate it up
And then they set it loose.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic,
with my laptop on my knee.

She loves her sons, she likes her guns,
and Trigonometry.
The media will jump the shark
When Juan makes history.
Well, JimRob knows she’ll pave the trolls
So controversially,
And Berg will knock Obama down
With friends of Hillary.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.

I soon will be in Hawaii,
And then I’ll look all ‘round,
And when I find his birth record,
I’ll fall upon the ground.
But if I do not find it,
This Freeper’ll surely die,
And when I’m dead and buried,
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you cry for me;
I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee

Let me go on record, I was right here on FR saying when Fred Thompson dropped out, that “a McCain for President Yard sign will never cast its shadow on my front lawn”, and I would Never put a McCain bumper sticker on the car. Stopping short of saying I would never vote for him.

Well let me tell you, with his perfect performance at the Saddelback forum, his brilliant new style of ads, picking Sarah Palin someone who I have been watching for months as the VP, and now with her electrifying debut - I AM SO PUMPED I CAN’T BE CONTAINED.

Within minutes of the VP announcement last Friday I began searching websites to purchase bumper stickers, yard signs, T-shirts, anything. Heck right now I could break a taboo of mine and tattoo McCain/Palin 08 on my chest.

My wife is in the hospitality industry and has about 35 employees. Almost all of them are female. Most of them are either disinterested/disconnected with politics or think that government's purpose is to take care or give them stuff.

My wife was telling one of her employees (who has some interest in the election) yesterday afternoon about how excited I was to see Palin's speech and that she'd likely watch with me.

Apparently, about a dozen of her employees actually tuned in to see Palin's speech and several of them were watching parts of it on youtube this morning at work. There was considerable discussion about it- they loved this woman. They related to her and appreciated how she spoke to them- not "fancy". They ate up her family and appreciated her vowing to be an advocate for special needs children. A couple of her employees have special needs (FAS, autism, cerebal palsy) children.

My wife was very surprised that they were interested and engaged! The last time there was a big common conversation was over the "I Kissed a Girl" song! Whether or not her employees will actually vote is another matter but they were certainly excited by Palin.

Speaking of pics, somebody posted a graphic of a faux campaign poster with a picture of Palin on top and John McCain underneath, without his name. It said “that guy” or something like that”.

Does anyone know what the graphic I’m talking about? And could they post it if they have a copy, or redirect me to to the thread where it was posted?

Thanks.
