WHERE are the Saddleback Polls???

Posted on 08/18/2008 12:45:30 PM PDT by GLDNGUN

Usually after a debate or town hall forum, the media takes a quick poll of those who watched the event in person or on TV.

Why is it that we haven't seen any polls of who "won" the Saddleback Forum on Saturday night? I find it hard to believe that the MSM didn't do any polls. And if they didn't, you KNOW they would have IF Obama had done well. I think he did SO BAD that they either didn't dare do a poll or, if they did, didn't dare release the results.

Yep I bet that’s it. The polls are depressing for Obama’s performance, so they don’t want to give the polls publicity this time around.

Oh, the snap polls have been done, and more detailed polling is going on right now. It's unlikely we'll ever be told the results, and certainly not by the MSM.

As I've said many times, the day McCain pulls ahead of Obama is the day the polls will disappear. They'll reappear when Obama can be made to look like he's ahead

There was no debate.
These aren’t the polls you’ve been looking for.
Vote for Barack.

Good catch. People like to talk about journalistic bias in published articles, but bias manifests itself in an even bigger, and harder to detect way, in what is reported in the first place. (e.g., there is so much bad news to be reported along the Mexican border that the media could easily have whipped the public into a border crackdown frenzy if they wanted to. Instead the issue is largely ignored.)

Is FoxNews is in the tank for Obama? They had coverage, but no polls? Come on, what's going on here??? Where was Frank Luntz with one of his "unfocused" groups???

I’m waiting for various surrogates to come out, and say that Obama gave nuanced replies to complicated questions, or something along those lines. And then they will say that McCain has a black/white view, i.e. life begins at comception, with no allowances in abortion policy for mother’s health or anything else. Whereas Obama understands the nuances of abortion policy. And they may then say that you can’t give one word sound bite answers to complicated questions.

We heard some of that in 2004, where John Kerry allegedly understood the nuances of our national problems, whereas Bush had a simpleton view of the world.

That's true.

Brack couldn't debate Daffy Duck.

On election day, we will see a “big lead” for Barack Hussein in the early afternoon “polls” trying to discourage the conservative “after work” voters from voting.

We saw this nonsense in 2004 and we will see it again.

They say Kerry was nuanced. I got their 'nuance' right here!

Well, 'net polls are about as UNscientific as you can get. I have no doubt that McCain pounded Nobama by about that margin, but I would like to see an actual poll that was taken.

The MSM told us this was going to be Obama's chance to win over the Evangelical vote...that he was at ease...comfortable in this setting. OK, fine, HOW DID HE DO? Let's see a poll of ALL who watched it, or just a poll of those "evangelicals" that he was courting. Isn't the MSM the least bit curious? LOL

ALL polls are BS unless you know how they are weighted

the fact that mccain is that far ahead and that the dems have resorted to saying he cheated leads me to believe you will not be seeing any polls on any network anytime soon

Good question.

I noted in an earlier thread that Fox, like CNN seem intent on avoiding making a winner/loser judgement on the this debate in their instant analyis following the Saddleback session. I'm not surprised at CNN but I'm disappointed in Fox.

“the day McCain pulls ahead of Obama is the day the polls will disappear. They’ll reappear when Obama can be made to look like he’s ahead “

TOO LATE!
Today’s ZOGBY tracking poll now includes BOB BARR, and a “Poll” saying “the People” are demanding that he be included in the Obama-McCain Debates!

The left KNOWS that the Holy Obama is tanking, and you can tell Zogby’s desperation, as well.

Do these idiots actually think we would ALLOW them to set up another Perot debacle?

I missed the debate, and I was gone all weekend long. I only had a chance to catch up on the news this morning. I was surprised to find that Good Morning America made absolutely no mention of the debate at all! I, at first, thought that maybe it had been canceled for some reason, so I came on to Free Republic to see what happened.

No surprise, I found out that overwhelmingly the consensus was that McCain won. No wonder GMA never mentioned that it even happened.
