I wouldn’t let my six year old watch Cartoon Network, PBS or Disney. We finally got fed up and got rid of TV altogether. We don’t even miss it.

If you have friends and family and a town that will work with it start there. Just stand in front of a store that is frequented and ask people to sign it. Then copy the sheet and mail off to the offending advertisers (because they pick the times they display the ads) and the offending Networks that show the ads.
As to a petition on FReeRepublic, I would think you could just put a thread up explaining your position. Probably best if you study the advertisers, put their email addresses link and the network email link that showed the ad. If you make the links easy to access the people will come.

I watch reruns of Frasier, the History channel, Good Eats, and Emeril. I watch Brit Hume some of Shep, but mostly on mute during the political stuff. Hell's kitchen is fun and the Next Food net work Star. Battle Star G. and reruns of Star Trek the original series. That's about it.

I think even HGTV and the Food Channel are getting PC. On HGTV (the Happy Gay TV), 3 shows in a row had gay people on. I don’t watch much TV (Hannity’s America, NASCAR (which is starting to become PC, too), sports, but the days of shows like ‘Crosby’, ‘Mary Tyler Moore’, ‘8 is Enough’ and ‘Happy Days’, is past!

I used to buy quite a few of their movies when my girls were still at home. I highly recommend the company! The girls especially used to love Rigolleto and The Butter Cream Gang.

I agree. I find it irritating when I go to a movie and have to sit through previews of movies that have higher ratings.

Claim back your life, get rid of the TV. We don’t own a TV, we don’t have one in the house, we don’t miss watching it.

Those ED commercials drive me bonkers, too! Have you tried hulu.com? You can download stuff for free (unless you’re uber-rich and money isn’t a problem!). I don’t know how the commercials are on this site because I personally haven’t used it, but there are some movies to choose and I have a friend who talks about it all the time:

I use play dough and art projects for that. I set up an Art box (plastic tub) for my grandson when he was maybe two, and at that age I closely supervised him and there was very little in the box- crayons and paper I think. As he gets older I have added to it and added to the rules; now he has a great selection and knows the rules. It is his choice whether to paint, color, play with play doh- cut and glue, whatever. When I need some peace it is time for him to do art.

This works great as long as you have strictly enforced the rules along the way- I learned to do that the hard way when my youngest made a mural about 3 feet tall and 15 feet wide in my hallway- in my defense her brother was babysitting when that happened.

I don’t rely on tv to parent my kids. If you ever met them you would know that. They are truly great kids.

Amen, I'll vouch for that.

Can't I watch a Yankee game (The great American game) during prime time without hearing about a 4 hour erection?

On the rare occasions we watch commercial telly, we make sure EWTN is the last channel viewed

EWTN is one good reason why canceling cable is not an option. There are good channels/programs on. You cannot rent DVDs/videos that are going to give you up to date information on a daily basis.

The solution to this issue is ala carte cable. Nielson ratings will then not be needed and people will be able to truly vote with their wallet.

Hang in there. Sounds like you are doing a great job with your Children. May God's hand keep them and protect them when you can't be there.

Thanks and Amen. I am truly blessed to have her as my wife and the mother of my children!

Yes. The poison is

DELIBERATE.

They are deliberately shredding society.

The managers are in the spiritual realm and from hell.

The globalists think they are following the advice of enlightened ET’s.

Idiots, for sure. Satanic idiots.

I have not watched any commerical television in over twenty years. I recently sat with someone and watched a half hour show of some popularity. I was nauseated by what I saw. it is a sewer. Is it right?

Of course not but it reflects the lowest denomoniator of our country. This is who our leadership want us to be. This is the extent the powers that be will travel for money and manipulation. Whether it is right or not it is.

So get out of it.

And read the reviews of the vids you rent or buy. The ratings are no real indicator.

Fox showed some inappropriate ads during baseball/baseball
playoffs. Thankfully on ESPN when they were doing Little
League world series coverage, such things didn’t happen...

Most of the people who shout about turning the TV off are watching it while they post. The ones that accuse you of letting the TV “raise your kids” typically don’t have any.

Listen to the good advice and disregard the pompous lying jerks.

Hey!

I'm not watching TV and haven't for a very long time!

I guess thats why you said 'most of the people'.
