“Yes, I too have seen the mindless nonsense about a Holy Grail and such.”

Some groups such as the FreeMasons would take issue with that statement.

Perhaps so but not one could point to anything positive accomplished by elevating the creation (a simple drinking cup) to the position of relic worship.

IMO, it's not so much the relic as the story behind it. Sure, a golden cup is a great and valuable find but, a golden cup with a historically/biblically relevant story..........to some.......priceless/magical/powerful.

Not to mention the graven images.

From the article the cup seems to have been made several decades b.c. and is obviously worth many thousands of dollars. But because the context of the creation of the cup is lost it's historical significance is greatly diminished.
I can't imagine how one would describe it as biblically relevant or powerful/magical. It's an interesting find as a bit of ancient art work and valuable in its own right but let's not get carried away by a wave of hyperbole to the lands of myth and legend.

Children are no longer taught history in school. Can’t a 50 year old man have a little bit of fantasy in his life? LOL!
