His voice belongs to then and now, an audio clip that carries us back to a bygone era even as it keeps us up-to-the-minute updated...
But as the Dodgers crank up the celebratory machine to mark their 50th anniversary in Los Angeles, a different emotion surfaces when considering Scully's place with the Dodgers. Scully is 80 and in the last year of his contract with the club. He hasn't yet decided on his plans for after this season. For the time being, anyway, every game, every inning Scully's calls carry with them an underlying, undeniable theme for listeners: Let us enjoy them while we can...

I watched that game this weekend just to hear Vin Scully....someday, he will be gone, like Chick Hearn.
ES I thought Vin Scully sign another deal with Dodgers
BTW I did see live all those Dodgers greats that was so coool
God bless Vince Scully!
Like a second Father, I love this man. He and Jerry Doggett fill many of my childhood memories.
I can’t find it now, but there is a weblink that has an audio replay of Vin Scully calling the bottom of the ninth inning of Sandy Koufax’s perfect game, pitched at Dodger Stadium in 1965.
Scully’s broadcast was excellent. And I am in awe of the fact that Koufax not only pitched a perfect game, he did it by striking out the last six batters.
I liked him calling NFL games.
I was there for it. My Mom took us to every game possible. We always sat next to the bullpen.
I have LOTS of Dodger stories. LOL
Looks like you & I are the only ones interested in Vinny. LOL
Great game today.
Vinny is the BEST!

I love listening to Vin Scully on the radio (thru the internet) or on tv broadcasts.
I was one of those who drove home from work each evening and listened to Scully's broadcasts. Especially when Koufax was pitching.
My favorite, other than the one you mentioned, was when Koufax struck out the side on nine pitches.

Song of Solomon 2:12
The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove Vin Scully
Is heard in our land.
Just when I think I can’t stand one more day of No Football, it’s Opening Day at Dodger Stadium and the warm, unmistakable voice of Vin Scully comes through my television. Fox Sports West broadcasts Dodger games, thank fortune. I can’t imagine Dodger games without him. A true gem.

We saw Sandy while waiting by Will-Call!
