I dislike the new FR format. The former one was simple to use. Why does one need to click on a current post to be able to submit a new post? I would prefer to see the post option returned to the upper right corner of the screen where it was previously. I'm getting so frustrated with the new format I don't enjoy FR any longer.
It’ll take a while to get used to, but we will get used to it.
They’ll probably make some more changes.

Try looking to the right under “Browse By Forum”. Each forum has its own “post” Button!
Search is still there, top right corner.
I like the new format better for many reasons and think this is clearner and more usable.
I really hate the new search feature though (and I’m not the only one complaining about this as the revised search has received most complaints in the thread John Robinson posted yesterday.
For those of us who post new threads frequently, this new search feature does not work as effectively or efficiently as before. Too many additional mose clicks to get to a very important feature on the website.
Overall, I am happy with the look and feel (except for the complaint above and the lack of thread views).

I think I’ve done fairly well to adapt without freaking out.
Doesn’t work as effectively as the old one and the options we had in the previous one are missing here. Takes too many additional mouse clicks to get to a search feature that was similar to the old one.
I agree, I believe the changes are brilliant. Sure they take some getting used to, but they give us a LOT more power and control over our view. The RSS feeds will also make a big difference in what can happen with Free Republic outside this site.
Let’s all burn our monitors in protest of this new format!

I’m submitting a positive appraisal of the new format. It is simple and uncluttered - easier on the eyes.
Just like anything new, it takes a while to get used to it - especially as we get older and more set in our ways.
It is okay with me. I like it.

Yep, everything else is pretty slick.........but search needs to be more dependable. Note the surge in duplicate posts the past couple of days......
Maybe they will change BACK! This is not the year to change! We need something stable. First our Republican party is changing FAR LEFT, then EBAY changed for the bad, now FR!!! PLEASE powers that be!!! Change it back??
