Look at these and thaw out!
PING LIST
Just wow. Thank you!
Thanks! Nice to see!
I love my ice fishing but I was kinda wishing I was in the boat today when I was out there. Won’t be long now.
Bluebirds are my favorite! I had never seen one until I moved to Tennessee.
I saw my first wild daffodil blooming yesterday. Spring must be on the way.
What’s the little wren in the 2nd pic? We have alot of those here. Cute little things, and friendly.
Our early daffodils are blooming, but I’m jealous! The little wild pink flox won’t bloom here for another month or 6 weeks.
Oh—and you can keep the Florida betony in the pic w/ the wren! We have all we can deal with! Maybe we could send it to Iraq. :) On another thread, they were talking about poor people in Haiti eating dirt—maybe we should send them some Fla betony and some kudzu!
Pitchers and Catchers are now working out. Next week, the regular over paid players show up.
No fair!
We ain’t got none of that there “snow”....
It’s time-release rain. And we’re due another 4 to 6 inches in the next 36 hours, with 20 to 40mph winds gusting to 50.
AL GORE! WHERE”S MY DAMN GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
The tuber on the betony is edible and good! I’d rather have betony than grass. Try the betony tubers in salads, good eatin’.
This is a Chipping Sparrow, lots of sparrows look similar, have to look for subtle details.
Thanks for the bird info! I love your pics and your knowledge—I can’t see well enough at any distance to make out the deets!
I had read that the tubers were edible. Probably the only way we’ll ever get rid of the stuff! LOL
Sometimes I’m not sure until I get the critter in the viewfinder, the camera is like a set of high powered glasses for me.
Up here in snow-covered southern New Hampshire, a bluebird’s been visiting my yard for the past month, traveling with a flock of goldfinches. We hardly ever get bluebirds in the summer, so to see one in winter is very unusual!
My sister who lives in the panhandle of FL said something about bad weather tomorrow her way and also tornados in TX.
It will end up here, just been lucky the past few days.
I was planning on starting my backyard bird count today--the Audoban GBBC is this weekend--and our Cooper's Hawk parked herself in the neighbor's tree for four hours straight. Not another bird in sight all day.
And she wasn't even close enough to get a picture of--what a wasted day!
