Many more stats at the site. I believe Darwin was started as an anti-freeper site, but pretty interesting stuff. Many more stats at the link.

Thought maybe you would be interested in stats for FR for last year.
Your names are at the top!

Yep. They are an amazing bunch of people. There are so many little communities here. The Support the troops people, the Vets, the Intellectuals. It not just all politics. If you have a question about just about anything, some one here will have an expert's level knowledge on it.
Thanks for posting this thread. I have gotten so sucked into the politics recently I have lost track of all the other valuable things Free Republic has to offer. Your thread here is a nice reminder.

Good question. I think Freeper has been in it’s current basic format since 1998. At least 1998 is the oldest date I have ever seen on a Freepers home page.
So 1,956,074 / 10 / 52 = 3761.68 threads a week. That sounds reasonable.

I know; just was saying that the numbers listed in the original post were for 2007, not for all their time on FreeRepublic. Hence the numbers being in the sixties for posts per day.

How would you know how many posts were made just in 2007? The only figure I can find is a running total.
30,000 posts in a single year comes out to be like 82 a day. That seems kind of high. I mean it is possible since KathyinAlaska frequently hosts the Canteen thread and posts lots of posts but 82 a day?

I think maybe the author simply extrapolated the data based on the mistaken notion that a Freepers posting total equaled a yearly total.

How would you know how many posts were made just in 2007?Honestly don't know; apparently this person datamines the information from Freerepublic quite effectively, I'd sort of like to know how they'd do that, as I'm rather curious what my number is for 2007.
As for 82 a day; Looking at her in forum page, it's quite possible. 'posts' being original posts or replies, of course.

Most amzing is the fact that it was my first day and I posted a vanity and survived. LOL
There aren't too many things that pass through the news and don't end up posted here so I don't risk duplicates. If I find something interesting I'll FReepmail the link to someone who runs a relevant pinglist and let them post.

Happy Belated B day Kathy! Thanks for responding. My curiousity is peaked.
Here is how you check.
On the Forum page up in the upper right there is a line that says:
Home | Forum | New posts to you | Mail | More ...
Click on More
This will take you to your personal page.
In the upper one third of that new page there should be a line that says
You’ve posted a total of x threads and x replies.
Those are your totals
Considering all the work you put in on the Canteen thread, your totals must be amazing.
