Voting Based on Appearances

Whether we like it our not, people vote on appearances. (JFK vs Nixon, for example). Afterall, that's how we voted for cheerleaders in high school. With that said, and putting all parties, policies and platforms aside, who would you vote for based purely on appearance? By appearance, I mean who conveys the look of a leader by just walking into a room and saying "We have a situation here that requires your attention."?

My thoughts in no particular order:

1. Fred - Physically imposing, well spoken and a good voice.

2. Rudy - Looks like a weasel and doesn't fill out a suit well.

3. Obama - Good height,, trim, well spoken and a good voice.

4. Edwards - Ken doll and a bit wimpy. (Nice hair though)

5. McCain - Doesn't come across as strong and doesn't have the greatest posture.

6. Hillary - Wouldn't meet the criteria above unless she was hot.

7. Richardson - Frumpy looking. Looks like he would wear suits a tad too big for him.

8. Romney - Weatherman.

9. Huckabee - He's border line. Well spoken but not very imposing physically.

We are electing the Commander and Chief of the US military. Voters treat it like an American Idol contest. Not listening to what is said but how it is said. It is not a beauty contest.

I agree with part of what you said but would you agree that the Commander-in-Chief needs to have the apperance of a leader? All things equal, would you want Russell Crowe or Woody Allen as your leader?
