In both situations, changes at the top reaped a big payoff. Also, Bob Craft unwittingly provided a good example of how to succeed if the local government won’t build you a new stadium. He wanted taxpayer money at first, but when he was rebuffed, he grudgingly went ahead and built CMGI Field/Gillette Stadium. It was a financial windfall for him.
