Quiet Riot vocalist Kevin DuBrow was found dead at his home in Las Vegas on Sunday. Friends reportedly went to his home and found the singer. The musician was 52.
DuBrow started the heavy metal band Dubrow in 1980 and later changed the name to Quiet Riot. The group released an album Mental Health that took them to the top of the charts. They were the first metal band to receive number one status on their debut album.
Their latest album Rehab was released in 2006. Most recently, the group performed in July at glam metal festival Rocklahoma and at a free concert in mid September for service members at Kessler AFB in Biloxi, MS. - Source: Bitten and Bound Copyright
A story on Kevin DuBrow published in Rock Confidential writes that "In 1980, DuBrow formed a band he named DuBrow. That band later became Quiet Riot and with the release of Metal Health they stormed to the top of the charts. Quiet Riot was the first metal band to achieve number one status on their (U.S. release) debut album. Songs like Cum on Feel the Noize and Metal Health (Bang Your Head) launched them into national fame."

It’s kinda funny. And cryptic, in a way. All year, I’ve had in the back of my head that one of the great singers of the 80s metal scene would die this year, but I wasn’t sure who. For some reason I was leaning towards Vince Neil, but then I hear Kevin DuBrow is dead.
Weird.

Apparently.
No cause of death, but I’d bet either drugs, or perhaps a heart attack or stroke that may or may not have been drug-related.

I was only a little kid when Quiet Riot’s biggest hit, Cum On Feel The Noise, hit the airwaves. It wasn’t until many years later that I found out that Quiet Riot didn’t actually pen the song, but instead covered Slade who performed the original.
IMO, Quiet Riot’s version sucked in comparison to the original version by Slade. Notwithstanding, I offer heartfelt condolences to Kevin's family.
To: Chipper
Damn. I knew that was wrong and did it anyway. JP is correct.

No harm, no foul. No disrespect intended, but I always chuckled at Dubrow’s attempts to mask his hair loss. He often looked like he was wearing one of those hats with a hippie wig attached to it.

He and Brett, along with Scott Ian and Rob Halford, could start a new genre and call it “Pate Metal”.
Well, the rest of those guys could form in Kevin's honor, I guess.

Sad news. But it’s nice how the band all still love each other after so many years. Hope he didn’t suffer or was the victim of a crime.

No harm, no foul. No disrespect intended, but I always chuckled at Dubrows attempts to mask his hair loss. He often looked like he was wearing one of those hats with a hippie wig attached to it. His wig was the worst!!
What made it even worse still was that his hair was thinning when Metal Health came out and then 20 years later he has this big curly wig on. What was he thinking.?? LOL! Rockers who go bald MUST shave their heads!! At least Scott Ian and Alex Mitchell (Circus Of Power) have enough sense to do that.
Anyway, RIP Kevin
To: RockinRight
Who’s next? Kip Winger? David Coverdale? I saw a show about Quiet Riot a couple of years ago. They were playing a gig at a nudist resort, in front of a bunch of naked old people. They had just reunited, and were repaying their dues. Sad news.
Here’s a little Slade in his honor, since he covered them so well.

You think that’s callous, here is the Wikipedia entry for DuBrow’s album:
[In for the Kill is a 2004 covers album by Quiet Riot vocalist Kevin DuBrow, who died in November 2007 from complications related to his poor metal health. Despite his death, he is expected to continue to miraculously attain more hair. Unlike the deaths of Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain and John Lennon, his death is not considered a loss to the musical community, since he was the lead singer of Quiet Riot, after all. However, some people are apparently mourning his passing anyway.]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_for_the_Kill_%28Kevin_DuBrow_album%29
The childish entry reads as though it was written by a 12 year old. ‘related to his poor metal health’ Ah, I get it! ‘Metal health’ like the album. Scratch what I said earlier, even a 12 year old would find that corny. And the clowns at Wikipedia don’t even have a ‘report abuse’ button. They’re not much for maintaining the integrity of a website, I suppose.

Prayers for his family.
