Rush Limbaugh moving to WHJJ in Providence

As expected and tipped yesterday on ALL ACCESS, the move of RUSH LIMBAUGH in PROVIDENCE from CITADEL Talk WPRO-A to CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WHJJ-A has opened a slot for former PROVIDENCE Mayor BUDDY CIANCI at WPRO, but it's also prompted a shuffle in assignments for a pair of existing WPRO personalities, as morning host RON ST. PIERRE joins CIANCI for 10a-2p and present middayer JOHN DEPETRO moves up to mornings 6-10a as host of the "WPRO MORNING NEWS." Afternoon host DAN YORKE moves up an hour to 2-6p.

WHJJ is AM 920. At one time they experimented with Air America and the ratings plummeted. Now they have Quinn and Rose, Glenn Beck, Rush (starting 9/20), Hannity, Mark Levin, etc.

Former Prov mayor Buddy Cianci, like WRKO/Boston morning guy (former MA House Speaker) Tom Finneran, is a convicted felon, though Cianci actually served time.

I guess DePetro was a bit of a muckraker with regards to Buddy and "PlunderDome". I don't know much about all that (am in Boston area) but one of these days I'll have to check out a book about it ("Prince of Providence", I think it's called).

DePetro calls himself "the Independent Man" after the statue on top of the R.I. State House.
