If he’s as talented a physicist and author as he is a musician, you can bet I’ll read his books.

Brian gets his doctorate.
Meanwhile, Freddy Mercury is NOT dead, he's just been reborn as a Kazakhstani journalist:

May was always a very underrated guitar player. His work, however, is as good as any rocker who ever strapped on a six string. Check out the song “Brighton Rock” on Queen’s third album for verification.

Brian May is completing his doctorate in astrophysics, more than 30 years after he abandoned his studies to form the rock group Queen.
No kidding, a doctorate in astrophysics? Wow. I am impressed. Who knew he was hiding a mind like that under that '70s arena rock haircut?

Can he now write his own scripts for pharmaceuticals?

In London a few weeks ago,I saw the West End production of “We Will Rock You”.Although I was never a Queen fan I thought it was outstanding.I think that one or more members of the group were involved in the production (consultants, artistic advisors, etc).

Whoah... Brian May THE guitarist! Very cool indeed!

There is another rocker who could also get a Doctorate if he put his mind to it. I am talking of none other than Doug Martsch of “Built To Spill.”

I recall that when he was a teen his family couldn’t afford an electric guitar he and his father built one from wood from a fireplace mantle, a knife, some motorcycle valve springs, pearl buttons and other assorted items.
His genius started early.

It is a poorly kept secret that Brian May is brilliant. He built his guitar in the early sixties with his Dad because he couldn’t afford a Stratocaster. He is nearly a teetotaler (no smoking, no drugs, very rarely drinks). While other guys were reading Playboy on tour, he’d pick up the latest Scientific American. By all acounts, May is a very nice guy, too. Soon he will be known as the Doctor of Rock. No “We Will Doc You” jokes, please...
