FREMONT A 24-year-old man is expected to be in court today after he was arrested on a charge of using his cellular phone to take a lewd picture of a woman shopping at Wal-Mart.
The man was taken into custody about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday after a 30-year-old San Jose woman shopping in the produce section of Wal-Mart on Osgood road saw him crouch behind her and take a picture up her skirt, Detective Bill Veteran said.
The woman immediately turned around and saw the man pull his hand back, the detective said. She could see the screen on the phone and saw (an image of) her upper leg on it.
The woman then grabbed the phone and went to the pharmacy department, where she called police. The arrested man followed her there and pleaded for her to give his phone back, but the woman kept it until officers arrived, Veteran said.
His next "Cell" call will likely be from Bubba.
