OK .. thanx ... in that case I'll disown the alltimers claim and reaquaint myself with the comfortably numb sometimers.

Good morning everyone. I put on a pot of Mexi-beans earlier. It's an experiment because we miss the El Paso ones so much. I hope they're edible. Will let you know. If they are, I'll make an Enchillada Pie to go with them for supper.
Tomorrow is a big card day and am making my (hopefully new SIL) cute Irish friend a New England Boiled dinner. His fav meal..lol.
(Lots of Dogs...died on my Stove..lol.)

An old Italian man goes to the doctor for a check-up. The doctor is amazed at what good shape the guy is in and asks, "How do you stay in such great physical condition?"
Because I'm Italian and I am a golfer," says the old guy, "and that's why I'm in such good shape. I am up well before daylight and out golfing up and down the fairways. Have a glass of wine, and all is well."
"Well," says the doctor, "I'm sure that helps, but there's got to be more to it. How old was your Dad when he died?"
"Who said my Dad's dead?"
The doctor is amazed. "You mean you're 80 years old and your Dad's still alive. How old is he?"
"He's 100 years old," says the old Italian golfer. "In fact he golfed with me this morning, and then we went to the topless beach for a walk, that's why he's still alive ... he's Italian and he's a golfer too."
Well," the doctor says, "that's great, but I'm sure there's more to it than that. How about your Dad's Dad? How old was he when he died?"
"Who said my grandpa's dead? He's still akick'n."
Stunned, the doctor asks, "You mean you're 80 years old and your grandfather is still living? Incredible, how old is he?"
"He's 118 years old," says the old Italian golfer. The doctor is getting frustrated at this point,
"So, I guess he went golfing with you this morning too?"
"No. Grandpa couldn't go this morning because he's getting married today."
At this point the doctor is close to losing it. "Getting married? Why would a 118 year-old guy want to get married?"
"Who said he wanted to?"

Hello stranger. ;o)
Westy is missing?
Good heavens, I hope it is a case of 'life and things'.
To: EsmeraldaA; phantomworker; Conservababe
He hasn't checked in in quite a while. Wasn't all that perky when I called him last month. Haven't got a live answer from him, and his machine is full. PW is on the case. Someone (I think it was conservababe?) said that she heard that he was visiting relatives.

Be good. I have to go now.
To: null and void
I didn't say he was visiting relatives. I believe it was Resty who said that. I am beginning to fear the worst.
To: Conservababe; restornu
Ah. Resty? was it you? Do you recall any other details?

Uh uh, dog .. I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I know quicksand when I see it ... I went there after stumbling onto this thread .. that lasted about 3 minutes and I came back here, admitted my ignorance, and will now pick up where y'all left off.
Unless I lose track of what I'm doing and stumble on this thread sometime in the future.
Should that happen fellow FreepeRs .. be kind to me ... I'm learning new words these days .. old fart .. doting .. what? ..

Hi Mo, I've also had Westy on my mind. It's not like him to not at least post a sunset. I'm worried. I guess I'll have to freepmail Nully to get a phone number.
In our case, no news yet. NOTHING!! The waiting is torture. CO

Knarf -- Bless your soul --- Don't be so defensive.
You found an old circle of friends, chatty ones, and some of these have huge numbers of posts -- one is almost at 50,000 posts on Freep.
If you gander at the home pages of some of these folks you'll see we are all on the more-experienced side of a long life span, and we have a few near-dearly-departed ones among us.
So -- So you know.

Just finished up some Carmelcorn with four different kinds of peanuts. It's nice and spicy and crispy. Made Emerile's recipe from the other night on TV.
It will be good to pick on for our card game tomorrow, if Al and Devin don't eat it all first. ;)
It's almost time to start the Enchillada Pie. Nice rainy day for cooking and the leaves are coming down fast with all this wind.

All day I keep getting wind warnings for my town and it hasn't happened. We have barely a breeze. Maybe it'll come later.

They are having an open house on Sun...but I don't think we'll be selling any time soon unless we give it away.
