We will, most likely, never see this film. This is not because Irwin had, so far as we know, no chance to utter "Crikey!" one last time before leaping into the Great Crocodile Pit in the Sky.
No, we'll never see it because it is, quite simply, too much. It is more than we can readily handle. It is The Line.
There exists an audio track from the remarkable and wonderfully bizarre documentary film "Grizzly Man," where the hero, Timothy Treadwell, and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard are gruesomely mauled to death by a giant, furious brown bear.
The audio (Treadwell had left the lens cap on the camera when the attack occurred and hence there's no video of the death scene) is rumored to be unspeakably, nightmarishly disturbing. There is footage near the end of the documentary of director Werner Herzog listening to the track on headphones. His face is all ash and quiet horror. He hands the headphones back to Treadwell's friend and tells her to consider destroying the tape. No one should ever hear this, he says. It is just that disturbing. It is over The Line.
The Line is, of course, real death. That's it. That's our final threshold, . . .

Much like the sounds of the newspaper business as it lay dying
We'll never see the Islamic snuff videos publicly aired in their graphic horror either because the Left insists that the "torture" we put terrorists through is "equal" and warrants such a response to our evil imperialism.

Too bad this silly author isn't a Christian. They don't "fear" death. They live their lives as best they can and when GOD determines time is up they live with Him for eternity.
In our family we are protective of loved ones - alive and deceased. I don't know Steve Irwin however we routinely watched his show and enjoyed him. We'll miss him. He has a place in our hearts.
Steve Irwin was the real deal. Humble beginnings. A conservative. Straight shooter. Family man. Loved his parents and loved animals. CLEAN shows - no bathroom talk. A CONSERVATIONALIST; not a "naturalist or an environmentalist who put his money where his mouth was QUIETLY. Unlike other wealthy people he didn't ANNOUNCE his generosity for recognition. You couldn't help but like his UPBEAT enthusiasm and passion.
Would I want to see Steve's last moments for entertainment, "educational" or historical "reasons" ? NO! It would be too emotionally painful to view and I'd want to protect him from the above mentioned reasons.
There is NOTHING entertaining, educational or historical about what happened to Steve. It was a very sad fluke that is a tragedy. Whether people want to be honest with themselves or not, to view this is wrong. You'd have to be a COLD HEARTLESS person to get gratification over someone's heartache and untimely loss. Steve in particular should be remembered for the conservative man of principle he was and his passion and upbeat enthusiasm as a CONSERVATIONALIST. He made a difference!
As usual, she has no idea what she is talking about. Every single one of us has seen thousands of actual deaths on TV.
