PGA ShotLink suggested pairings: Woods - Furyk; Mickelson - Cink; Jenry - Verplank; Wetterich - Toms; Taylor - Johnson; Dimarco -Campbell.
I don't see the logic behind pairing the number one and number two players in the world - that is besides assuaging Tiger's ego. As Ryder Cup veterans I think they could help some of the other players adjust to the nervousness and pressure, and perhaps play better.
Woosnam must love seeing Lehman waste his two best players in one pairing. If I were "Woosy" I'd throw my two rookies against them and write the match off while my big guns were slaughtering the rest of Lehman's team.
My suggested pairings: Woods - Cink; Mickelson - Verplank; Furyk - Taylor; Wetterich - Toms; Dimarco - Johnson; Campbell - Henry. ( Tiger will spray his tee shots and Cink will hit ropes down the middle. ) ( Mickelson will be wild and Verplank will be down the middle. ) (Toms will settle Wetterich down.) ( Dimarco will settle Johnson down. ) ( Henry and Campbell will tread water before sinking below the water on 17. )
I'm not a golfer, but I sure as hell hope Tiger and company kick those euroweenies' butts all the way back to the clubhouse!.....
At least Elin had the good sense to put her clothes back on.
LOL!!
There is an amazig look-alike, Kim Hiott, who was in the pics purported to be Elin. Check out Google pics for Kim Hiott. Not all re safe for work. In fact, very few are.
Man, I hope Lehman doesn't feel the need to use all 12 guys in the pairing rounds.
That said, I hope he doesn't try to "overthink" the strategy.
His captains picks suggest he's trying to do just that.

This is a bit of a novelty Europe being favourites for once, it's making me nervous! Is justified though and I think we will win handily (just thought I'd put that in now so you can all bring it up later!).
I see we're still perpetuating this myth about Tiger Woods being the 'best player in the world' though. Tiger Woods is the best player in the world at strokeplay golf, but the simple fact is that he is not the best player in the world (or on the American team) at matchplay golf.
"Man, I hope Lehman doesn't feel the need to use all 12 guys in the pairing rounds."
Really? I think it's a major mistake not to. In '99 Mark James only used 9 players on the first two days, Europe built a good lead, but then got blown away in the singles. Leaving anyone out of the pairs is effectively conceding a point in the singles imo, and there is also an impact if you have too many guys playing all 5 sessions from a mental fatigue point of view.
I dont have enough data to back me up, but Id imagine its not the best thing for team spirit to effectively say Youre not good enough to play this round, Tiger [or whoever] will do it instead.
I'm sure Tiger will play all five sessions, but then he's probably the fittest, mentally or physically, around.
Looking at this afternoon's pairings, both captains are playing all 12 players on the first day. Which I think is a good idea.
Correction, Europe are playing all 12 today, US still have 2 sitting out.

What does it fell like to be getting a butt kicking off euroweenies?
