Wow. I went over to DU to see what kind of stuff goes on over there. People calling for the murder of the VP. People using the F-word like butter, spreading it all over the place.

I post a few sarcastic remarks (no profanity, just sarcasm) with the objective of making people wonder if I am being serious or not, and the moderator pulls the plug.

I re-register as "Stalinist Moderator" and go back in and make the comment that one should watch what they say or they might get bounced, and get bounced within seconds.

Exactly - just as FreeRepublic is not obligated to allow them to spew their garbage here. We are both forums of like-minded people. FreeRepublic's membership works for a living, takes responsibility for their own actions and take a shower everyday. I thought it was hilarious. I was actually wondering how blatant I would have to be to get bounced.

I started off with pretty subtle sarcasm like the Global Warming chart (in response to a Gore 2008 push) without any comment. Just to see if anyone picked up on the fact that our earth has heated/cooled many times before now without human intervention.

Then I stepped it up. I would agree with people with bold fonts and exclamation marks and then insert just a small fact as if it were unimportant that would disintegrate the argument and pretend I didn't realize I had just blown my own (their) argument.

OK..I am a glutton for punishment. But it was kinda fun testing the waters to see how much tolerance they have over there.

What is sometimes fun is to go to bulletin boards where there are both liberals and conservatives debating, register as something provocative like "Mr. Liberal", and post threads featuring a compilation of the "best" trash on any given issue from the DUmp. Watch the libs squirm because although they agree with the stuff, they don't want to be caught in "mixed company" seeming to agree with those over-the-top offensive rants.
