JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - When friends ask Bill Tyler what Hurricane Katrina did to his cottage in Bay St. Louis, he sends them a link to the online video sharing site YouTube.

There, for anyone to see, he’s posted a slideshow with images of his flood-stained house, the mangled trees outside and other scenes from the Mississippi Gulf Coast devastated by the Aug. 29 storm. The soundtrack is Angolan musician Waldemar Basto’s haunting song “Sofrimento.”

How long is it going to take to get the bridge from Pascagula(sp)
to Biloxi back in working condition. We tried to take HWY 90
across, but had to turn around at the bridge entrance and
go back up to I-4 and around.

The buildings down there seemed to be back in shape, not many
blue roofs. A lot less than I expected. God bless you guys in Miss. and Ala.

I'm glad to see my donations to certain groups went to good use.
I'll refrain from mentioning who I didn't donate to. (wink)

Several spans were wiped out. Here is a pic of the span at Bay St. Louis. Bids have gone out and construction is underway, expect a couple of years. The I-10 is ok for thru traffic, but 90 won't be ready for some time. We were down there a few weeks ago, and noticed that the marquis in front of the Beau Rivage (Biloxi) announced reopening 8/29/07 -- exactly one year from the date of the hurricane. A lot has been done, and work continues. Thank you for your donations, and for your thoughts and prayers.
