Schinder Family Attorney Writes New Book Dispelling Myths on Terri Schiavo

St. Petersburg, FL (LifeNews.com) -- David Gibbs, the attorney who represented Terri Schiavo's parents and family in the intense battle leading up to her euthanasia death, has released a new book dispelling some of the myths the mainstream media reported about Terri. In "Fighting for Dear Life," Gibbs sets the record straight and gives an inside view into the national drama that surrounded her.

The debate over Terri Schiavo's life was more than just a heartfelt story on the nightly news. It grabbed the attention of Americans and made them focus on the difficult questions that accompany end of life issues.

But, despite the media attention given to the legal battle between Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and her former husband Michael, Gibbs says the media presented a biased view of what happened.

"After Terri died, Bob and Mary asked me to tell what really happened--specifically the tragedy of this landmark case--so that many others would be spared from a similar fate," Gibbs says.

"I make no apology that, from my perspective, what happened to Terri was wrong. Very wrong," he adds.

The books describes how Terri was never on a ventilator or life support and how Michael Schiavo and the local court prohibited forty medical professionals from saying they thought Terri's condition could improve.

"Fighting for Dear Life is more than just a book of misreported facts," publisher Bethany House said in a press statement given to LifeNews.com.

"It is a powerful and compelling story about a woman who was denied her right to recovery and life," Bethany said. "It is a book about the preciousness of life, about real-life courtroom drama, and about how Terri Schiavo’s death has affected everyone in America."

Bob and Mary Schindler reviewed the book and said they appreciated Gibbs' writing on the truth of the matter as it concerns their daughter.

"Fighting for Dear Life proclaims the clear message that we long for the world to hear," the Schindlers said. "David fought courageously to save Terri's life and loved our family during some of the darkest hours of our lives."

Tom Gallagher is debating Charlie Crist right now on tv. Gallagher controls the room. Crist is making faces while Gallagher speaks about illegal immigration and security. It's hot in the hall. Crist hates being hot. His eyebrows are outta control when he stands to talk.

I, for one, will never forget that the Bush brothers took a weak "our hands are tied" approach to this woman's murder. They are still dealing with the fallout, IMHO.
