I'd cut the hours in half if his Father agreed to come along.

I like Mel; but that sounds like a reasonable thing to me. I'd don't think anyone can get his father back in the States though.
Might do him a world of good though.

Gibson should be charged with breaking Ireland and Russia of the evil habit of drinking.

I think that punishment is appropriate. I think he should sit with some holocaust survivors and get a clue.

Since so many here want so much to forgive Mel Gibson for his anti-semetic tirade ...If he went into such a tirade, it is not actionable by the courts. No punishment.

He should not be allowed to drive, again. And he needs to have his mouth washed out with soap... He's a bad example for his tons of kids... a WILLIAM WALLACE he is NOT.

He should be locked in a room for 5 minutes with Harvey Fierstein.

I doubt if a judge can impose any additional penalties above the fine that is listed in the penal code.
Carrying the label "anti-semite" for the rest of his life will be punishment enough.

He said receive the same punishment as everyone else regardless of what he said. Hate/thought crimes are bogus IMO.

I have a real problem with punishing him for his anti-Semitic remarks no matter how deplorable those remarks are. He has freedom of speech and that includes the right to say foolish and hurtful things. In my mind if people want to punish him for what he said don't buy his movies. That would hit him where it hurts, but the government should not punish him. And in many ways, the damage he's done to his reputation is going to assure a punishment that will last beyond his life. The things he said were crazy, illogical, and evil, but the state has no business meting out punishment for foolish statements.

I suppose it depends Hildy. Is what he said against the law? Can we sentence someone to jail or whatever for saying something ugly about someone? What is the punishment for the idiots who say in public the President of the USA should be killed? What about the republicans should all be shot? Are they serving sentences? I think not. Did he break some law by saying this? Or did he show his own hateful nature?

I honestly think his punishment should be . . .
making a blockbuster movie out of my novel, "September Day." There. That'll teach him.

He is a victim of too much Hollywood hate-mongering against Israel on account of Hezbollah. . .
It's. . .BS/ Barbra's fault.
He HAS apologised; more than most of them do. . .I say, drop it. . .
