What should Mel Gibson's punishment be? (VANITY)
July 30, 2006 | Hildy

Since so many here want so much to forgive Mel Gibson for his anti-semetic tirade and beligerent behavior towards law enforcement I was trying to come up with the best punishment. I think I got it. Besides the obligatory fine, I think the Judge should sentence him to 500 hours community service at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. What do you all think his sentence should be?

"I think he should have to wear Michael Moore's worn underwear, on his head, for a day."

"Do you want him to trip and fall?"

If he did, he would be all set with a parachute.

LOL! Good one!

Hildy, I will say this..

Sensitivity trainings are orwellian abominations.

They do NOT work, and only cause the hatred to go deeper and seethe in silence. Not good.

Whatever we propose for him, we should accept for ourselves. "You, who have not sinned, cast the first stone."

Mel Gibson is a man, not a God. He also is a Christian, not Christ. Those of us who are human, screw up once in a while.

You think that maybe life has been a little difficult for him after creating "The Passion"? I might suspect so.

"And if I said, ARE YOU A F**KING Jew, maybe your next comment would be relevant...but it's not. So what you think is cleverness is just gibberish."

Where's all this hate coming from?

The guy said some stupid stuff, so what. Your going to tell me that in your entire life you've never said anything that you looked back later on and regretted? If you haven't your lying to yourself about the quality of your character.

If you truly wanted to take a bad mistake and turn it into something good you would be forgiving him for having said something so stupid and who knows maybe some hearts would be changed to.

Mel Gibson always came off as a little touched. I think he's troubled and needs some help from someone who isn't starstruck and can tell him about himself. I hope he gets whatever help he needs so he doesn't sound like an antisemitic dumbass like his dad.

So what this really means is that MEL can't use the alcohol as his excuse! He really believes those terrible remarks. Right?

At least the dude apologized for them and that is more than most "fake people" do!

There are people who think the cops are protecting him, and they have a convincing argument. That type of rant usually comes with a much higher blood alcohol level.

Weren't you ever in the Infantry or Marines? Weekends at the EM club definitely teach you about the phenomenon.

Believe me, I know about the effects of drinking. What cracks me up about your post is that the police would release the iformation about what he said, but they'd cover up his Blood alcohol level. Give it up.

hmmmm....let's see....for the DUI....same as everyone.... and I DON'T want to forgive him for his anti-semetic but it is NOT against the law to be a racist or bigot.....so he should be duly ostracized and publicly humiliated befitting the bigot he "may" be.........

Hey, nasty language directed at Jews was constant and chronic. On the other hand pogroms were a specific tool of state in Eastern Europe. Peasants did not organize ANYTHING, and certainly didn't spontaneously attack Jews. They had to be paid and goaded into doing that by their rulers.

Funny thing though, Hildy.

It just occurred to me (loud prolonged cheering from the gallery),this fact. How come people on the left of the spectrum, can freely call some of their fellow Americans

NAZI'S?

Where are the screams of outrage?. Even ones who were bombed by the Luftwaffe. A bit of a laugh here- to brighten this thread.
