In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of the "Word for the Day".

frap [pronounced as spelled, verb, from Old French fraper to to strike or beat. Frapped, frapping, fraps. ]
a. STRIKE, BEAT
b. to draw tight: tighten with bonds (as a ship by passing cables around it: bid, draw together, or secure with ropes

A note:

frappé [pronounced fra-PAY] meaning iced or frozen, an iced drink or thick milk shake, or the ballet movement in which the free foot beats against the ankle of the supporting foot, appears to be of the same derivation

Example sentence:
Another time.

Rules: Everyone should leave a post using the Word for the Day in one or more sentences.
The sentence(s) should, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Their careers ruined? are you KIDDING ME? they would have languished in their rightful obscurity were it not for this business. it's the best damn thing that ever happened to them and they are doing their damnedest to keep it going as long as they can!

If Wilson didn't imply that Cheney sent him,
If Plame didn't engage in nepotism,
If both of them weren't the enemy with in (I'm betting 1/2 the bureaucracy is),
If he wasn't a Mr. Joe "My Wife's a Spy"
If he didn't have delusions of grandeur

If he didn't waste good money to be published in Who's Who, which is just a payola scheme for the self involved.

Then she'd still be an irrelevant desk jockey at Langley.

Instead they sue over their OWN errors but then again, being Left means never having to say you are sorry.

Kim Jong-Il needs an old-fashioned frap
He's a moron plus he's full of crap
Credit to Bush and Rice
Who refuse to play nice
Clinton/Albright fell into his trap

(No, Mr. Kim--a "frap" is not that piece
in the back of your pajamas that folds down.)

The U.S. Senate frap the American people.

I'm really starting to loathe those globalist crooks.

Good morning!

It seems that Target as joined forces with WalMart (will wonders never cease) in the fray to frap the Chicago City Council, which is scheduled to vote on a "living wage" ordinance aimed at the big box stores:

Target threatens to leave if wage rule OK'd

Ald. Leslie Hairston (5th) said she has a letter of intent from Target to build a new store at Marquette and Stony Island in her ward. But the developer has told her the store is "on hold" and that Target may close existing Chicago stores if the big-box ordinance goes through.

Hairston called it little more than a scare tactic. And even if the threat turns out to be real, she's standing firm in support of organized labor.

"Wal-Mart and Target could pay their people a living wage. Then we wouldn't have this problem, and people could actually live on the money they made," Hairston said.

After touring Versailles Palace and seeing it's opulence and then hearing about the abject poverty that abounded in Paris, I'm frankly surprised that the French monarchy didn't get frapped sooner.

Had I lived in those times, I would have been right there on the walls of the Bastille with the other sans culottes.

"A liberal is a person who watches a 15 year old girl perform a live sex act on stage and wonders if she's making a living wage."

Bastille Day, my a$$.

Have we been sold down the river (Rio Grande, St. Lawrence) again??
How many of us are aware of this EU-style nonsense??
I admit that I was not...but now the light is seeping through.
Bottom line: MORE U.S. tax dollars soon to be sucked away to build new infrastructure in MEXICO??
Sonsofb!tc#e$!!

Prosperity?? For whom?
